Chapter Five

      "WELCOME TROJANS!"

The loud, booming voice of Dr. Marcel Gerard echoed throughout the fairly large gym. As the well-known vampire ran out into the crowd, the students yelled and cheered after him. While Dr. Erikson Bennett stood beside Vincent Griffith, every other teacher was sitting in the crowd, watching.

"It is my greatest honor to be chosen to welcome both the students from the great, magnificent, Mikaelson Academy and the Salvatore School for Supernaturals to our first Mix and Mingle!"

Pausing at the sign of more applause, Alixandra, Akari, and Elion both scanned the crowd, looking to see where the Salvatore Students were sitting.

"There," Elion mumbled, nodding his head towards the door. Right beside the south entrance, the students from the Salvatore School leaned against the bottom of the bleachers.

At the peak of silence, Dr. Gerard continued. "For everyone not aware of its origin, the staff here at Mikaelson Academy believes that it is imperative to the success of both our school and your academics that we learn how to co-exist despite our athletic rivalries."

"And by that," Elion whispered. "We have been kicking the Salvatore dump's ass in literally everything."

Akari smirked. "Both academically and athletically."

Marcellus Gerard-Mikaelson glared at the back of the large gymnasium, recognizing the voices as soon as they spoke.

Winking, Alixandra made heart hands knowing her brother was glaring specifically at her.

With a certain edge to his voice, his lips curled into a small smile before clapping his hands together. "How about we start with our freshman? Alixandra and Akari Mikaelson, Elion Lewison, please come down."

Instantly, Alixandra threw up her middle finger, silently wishing that her father had just made her the eldest. Before she could move to get down, Akari tugged on her shirt. As she stared into her best friend's eyes, she noted the slight anxiety poorly hidden in them.

"You're good," She mumbled, grabbing her girl's hand softly. "I'm right here."

While Alixandra was more open and slightly more extroverted, Akari was her opposite. Even as her perfectly ironed clothing and her hair, were without a strand out of place, she still doubted herself in a large space.

So standing in front of the entire school was definitely not her cup of tea.

However, as she looked to her left and right and felt a supportive hand appear to her back, Elion and Alixandra slowly guided her down the steps. Her heart pounded in her chest, now wishing she hadn't said anything about those dogs the Salvatore School called students.

"Elizabeth and Josie Saltzman!" Dr. Gerard called out excitedly, tucking an index card into his back pocket. "Rafael Waithe! Please come down to the center."

Alixandra gulped.

Within a split second, she wanted to murder her brother.

Once the six students scurried down to the center of the gym, Dr. Gerard continued. "As we divide into groups, separating you from the groups are used to being in, we will provide you with a scavenger hunt. Together, you shall work together to complete the activity."

"Seriously?" Elion mumbled with an audible groan.

Ignoring him, the head of the vampire faction continued. Beckoning Vincent Griffith forward, he handed Alixandra one paper but six pens.
