Ashlyn rubbed Logan's knee, her way of bringing him comfort. He hid his face in his knees, and Ashlyn would bet good money that he was about too or already crying. She sighed, shaking as the phantom nosies screeched outside the door. She thought about that weird dream she had. What the hell even was that? It was all so bizarre...
Logan trembled. Ashlyn squeezed his knee, not in much of a better position than him.
Aiden chuckled.
Tyler scowled, his arm around Taylor. "What's so funny?" He snapped.
Aiden grinned, that damned psychotic grin. "It's like we're in a zombie movie."
"And that's supposed to be funny?!" Tyler demanded.
"Yeah." Aiden replied simply. His eyes wide and his smile even wider.
"Is he crazy or something?" Tyler grumbled.
Ashlyn honestly didn't know. He seemed—no with her luck he probably was a lunatic. What a person to get stuck with. A looney tones psychopath who would probably turn their situation into survival of the fittest like those horror films her parents loved to watch on Halloween.
God, she would kill to have her parents with her and Logan right now.
Speaking of...
Logan glanced at her, his eyes catching onto something he didn't earlier. "Ah..ash?"
"Hm?"
"Your arm. Your hurt.." Logan held her arm in his hand gently.
Aiden looked at it too, his eyes frowning in confusion. "Thought I pulled you out of the way in time?"
"Yeah you did.." Ashlyn hesitated. "I think this is from the sorrel weed house..."
There was silence. Absolute silence. Logan had frozen next to her, and Ashlyn was on pins and needles. Fuck—she really should have said something earlier, hadn't she? Then, Tyler stood up, face a bit red with anger.
"You mean you knew it was real and didn't tell anybody?!" He snapped.
Ashlyn frowned. Before she could say anything though, Logan spoke up.
"You brushed it off as a prank and threw a mini tantrum like a toddler..you didn't even give her a chance to speak. And if you had, I'm sure you would've spun it as one of the billion ways people can fake things today, right?" Logan snapped back, albeit nervously.
Ashlyn bit the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing. Logan didn't speak up often—but damn it was cool when he did. Even Aiden let out a quiet 'damn.' Ashlyn took a deep breath, stifling her laughter.
"Anyways, shouldn't we be coming up with a plan so we're safe—" Logan started, but was interrupted.
Tyler grunted, frustrated. "Why should I believe anything any of you two have to say anyways?! You guys got the closest to it! It's probably your guys's fault we're stuck here in the first place!"
As Tyler snapped, so did Ashlyn's patience. Ashlyn rose from her spot in the corner, and everybody felt a shift in the room. She wouldn't deem herself as overprotective but.....
That comment crossed a line for her.
"alright fine. Your right. Maybe I should have said something. And if blaming me for the situation helps you deal with the situation, so be it." Ashlyn said, grabbing the collar of Tyler's shirt and pulling him down.
"Hey! What are you—"
"—But if you aren't going to make yourself useful, make yourself scarce." Ashlyn snapped, her voice laced with venom. Tyler paled. Aiden, Ben, and Taylor stared slack jawed as Logan fiddled with his fingers. He honestly wasn't surprised Ashlyn snapped, Tyler had been pushing her buttons all day.
