Logan looked over the cooler with Emma once more. He mentally went over the list in his head. "Soda?"

"Check."

"Ice?"

"Check?"

"Drinks for the adults?"

"Just say alcohol Lo, it won't kill you," Emma teased.
Logan huffed. "I still don't see why we need it for a children's birthday party,"
"Well it's not for any of you!" Emma reasoned.
"You don't know that," It was Logan's turn to tease. "Maybe I'll sneak one."
Emma snorted. "Yeah right. Not in a million years little man."
She ruffled his hair. Logan laughed. "But seriously though. Do we have everything? Caprisuns?"
"Your juice is there Logan," Emma teased again. Logan blushed. "Shuduppppppppppp! Dad mom's being mean again!"

Mike chuckled as Ashlyn helped him get the folding table out from the closet. "Your battle, your loss."
"Take it like a man," Ashlyn snickered.
"But I'm just a boyyy!" Logan joked.
Emma laughed, squishing Logan's cheeks. "Yet always wanna argue. Teenagers man. Teenagers."
"Hey!" Ashlyn and Logan said at the same time.
Mike and Emma laughed as their kids pouted. Emma hummed, then frowned at Logan's appearance. "Logan fix your hair you look like a shaggy dog,"
Logan swatted her hand away. "I look fineeee!"
"Little boy—" Emma wrestled his arms to his sides, fixing it for him. "There. Jesus Christ.."
"It was fineeeeee!" Logan complained.
Mike laughed. "Good luck getting her to stop anything."
"Getting either of them to stop," Logan joked.
"What did I even do?" Ashlyn snapped back.
"Everything," Logan snickered.

Ashlyn glared at him. "Three seconds."
Logan took off running as Ashlyn chased after him. Mike and Emma chuckled, finishing the projects their children had abandoned.

THUD!

"MOTHER YOUR ONLY SON IS BEING STRANGLED HELP MEEEEEEEEEE!"

"TAKE IT BACK YOU LITTLE SHIT!"

"MOMMMMMMMMMM!"

Emma laughed. "Meh, it's fine. Ashlyn's the favorite anyways."

"WHAT?!"

Mike and Emma doubled over laughing, wheezing. Ashlyn cackled. "I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO!"

They came down(more like ran) the stairs. Logan huffed, a permanent pout on his face. Mike laughed and ruffled his hair. "We're joking Lo. We're joking."

"Better be."

"Ish."

"ISH?!"

Mike laughed again, reposing Logan in a headlock. Logan shrieked and tried to claw at him. "JERKS ALL OF YOU!"

Mike snickered and picked him up, spinning him around. "We love both of youuuuuuuuuuuu!"

"PUT ME DOWN!"

"Ashlyn I'm coming for you next!"

"TOUCH ME AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS GRANDPA!"

Mike froze and glared at his daughter. Oh she did not. Emma and Logan looked at each other, both making the same OoOoOohing noise. Mike  buckled, an evil glint in his eyes.
"Ashlyn....CMERE! WHO ARE YOU CALLING GRANDPA HUH?"

Mike and Ashlyn ran around the house. Ashlyn laughed, truly feeling like a little kid again, being chased around by her dad. Eventually, Mike caught her and held her by her feet. "Take it back!"

"Never!"

"Do it!"

"No! Your like fifty!"

"I'm barely forty!"

"Exactly! OLDDDDDDD!"

"I'll ground you!"

"Nu-uh! Mom won't let you."

"You know I hate that you're right."

Logan laughed. He had to admit, it was nice. A calm before the storm, his brain unhelpfully supplied. Logan shook that thought away. No it would be ok. They would be fine.
But still, there was a gnawing feeling  in his chest that something....something would happen. And Logan didn't know how to feel about it.

KNOCK KNOCK!

"Ah, I got it!" Mike said, letting Ashlyn fall to the ground. He opened the door, glad to see the Clark's there.
"Hey Mike!" Jessica smiled, an almost unnatural smile. Logan thought. No not unnatural. The rich people smile. It was so different from Aiden's. Speaking of...

The boys bounded through the house, flopping on the couch. Well Aiden did. Ben had a little girl hoisted on his hip. She was adorable, with big brown eyes and a chipped tooth. She had tan skin, different from Ben's pale, and an adorable red sweater on.
This must be Lily then.

Mike and Emma smiled, looking at the little girl. "And you must be Lily! The birthday girl!" Mike smiled, looking at Lily.
Lily grinned, and Logan's heart swelled. "Yeah that's me!"

Oh my god how adorable! He only knew this child from barely a minute, but if anything happened to her he would kill everyone in the room and then himself. She seemed so attached to Ben and Aiden too, following them around like a lost puppy.
Ashlyn hummed, trying not to be swayed by Lily's adorableness. Eventually, she cracked, holding up the candy bowl for Lily to take a lollipop. Lily did so happily, giggling. Ben bounced his hip a little and shot her a look. Lily nodded.
"Thank you!" she said in her high pitched, adorable voice.

Ashlyn groaned. Fuck she had fallen under Lily's spell. An older man passed her, walking out to the graveyard. Oh, James and Mary had arrived it seemed. Guess they were moving to the graveyard.
Ashlyn went to take a step, but Emma stopped her. "Ash, can you wait for the twins?"
"Hm? Oh yeah." Ashlyn said. Logan groaned internally. Crap, left alone with adults.

"So how did you meet Ben?" Naomi, Ben mother, asked Logan.
Logan fidgeted, looking around for an excuse, any excuse, to avoid this conversation. Eventually, he spotted Ashlyn and the twins coming, and ran over to help them.
Emma sighed, deciding she would scold him on manners later. She found it a bit odd their father didn't show up though.
"Well then," William, Ben's dad said. "Since everyone's here, let's get this started!"
