Window repairs needed

After conversation had died down to a gentle lull, Crash waved his hand and everyone magically found themselves back in their positions from before the little triplet discussion time. The hats were back in his hand.

"Let's get back to it, shall we? I'm sure we all learnt a lot about our close friends." Crash looked with a small smile at Shellington. Yza looked rather pointedly in Dashi's direction. "Amy would you like to do the honours?"

Amy grinned and pulled her cardigan closer around her torso.

"Sure I'll-"

The sound of smashing glass filled the room and a softball flew through the room, hitting Crash's jar-head and completely shattering it. The fish inside flew through the room and into the teacup that Shellington dropped in the previous chapter.

"Ah damnit," he said, still sounding like the Crash they knew. The softball bounced to a stop against a wall. Rushing after it came a short--but notably very fit--girl with a grey t-shirt, a softball helmet and some comfy looking shorts. She also held a softball bat in her hand.

"AAAAAH CRASH I AM SO SORRY!" she said frantically, dropping the softball gear and taking off her helmet, letting her dirty blonde hair fall to her shoulders. "Don't die on me!"

Some in the room could have sworn they saw tears in her bright green eyes, but this could've just been another of Crash's lighting shenanigans.

"I'm not going to die," Crash replied. "I mean it hurts a bit, but it's nothing I haven't been through and lived. But I do have to ask. What were you doing outside playing softball?"

"I wasn't," the mystery girl said with a confused frown on her face. "I was in my backyard practicing. How did I get here?"

"Witchcraft," shrugged Amy. "Let's get Crash back on his body."

"Could you go over to the cabinet over there Princess?"

Princess nodded and did as he asked, opening the cabinet to reveal rows of jars, each with some chemical of sorts in them.

"Which one, Crash?"

"Flip a coin."

"There's about thirty, Crash."

"Flip a thirty-sided coin."

"Crash! Do you want to get back in the jar or not?"

"They're all the same, it doesn't matter. Just pick one and read the instructions."

"Strawberry martini," Princess read aloud. "Let it sit for twenty minutes, then pop your fish in for optimal results. Crash what the hell is this?"

"Magic," the fish replied. "Now put me in it."

"It says rest for twenty minutes," Shellington interrupted. "Isn't that kind of important? The carbonation could be quite dangerous for a fish like yourself."

Crash stared at Shellington with the look of: "I know exactly what you're saying and I know it's true and I hate it."

"Fine. Can you put this teacup on my body then?" Amy did so. "Cheers. Now where were we?"

"A new host just entered," Vivi said nonchalantly. "And you've got some window repair bills."

Crash, now with a teacup for a head, waved a hand and the window... didn't fix itself. He tried again. And again. Nothing.

"Sorry," winced the girl. "Magic softball."

"Magic softball? You know what, I'm not even going to ask," Kwazii said with a slow shake of his head.

"Yeah... It's complicated. Very sorry about the window. Now should I introduce myself? Or have you got something planned..."

"This whole thing actually took me completely by surprise," Crash laughed, his voice somewhat muffled by the porcelain cup. "Introduce yourself in whatever way you want."

"Okay then," said the mystery girl. She turned to face the assembled Octonauts and Octoagents. "Hey everyone. My name's Gwen. I'm 13, American, a writer, an Octonauts fan and..." She gestured to her discarded gear. "A softball player. And I'm very, very enthusiastic for this whole questioning gig." She smiled at the other hosts. "Was that good?"

"Very," Vivi laughed. "But how come she gets to wear normal clothes? Yza I understand, she's sort of a monkey and obviously very proud of her purple stuff but Gwen's new here, I think she deserves some new clothes."

"Do it yourself," Crash said, and everyone thought he was frowning despite his face being covered. "I need to be able to see what I'm doing in order to use my powers, and until I get into that jar, I'm practically dry of magic."

Tweak, with obvious glee on her face, stood up.

"So you can't keep us in place anymore! We're free-"

Vivi waved a hand and she was back in her chair.

"Alright then Crash, I'll do it." He motioned, and Gwen's attire changed to a white shirt, a blue skirt and a matching jacket.

"Or," said Amy with a smile. "We could all just wear this."

She waved her hand and everyone was back in the clothes that they entered in. Except she still had her cardigan.

"Okay then," Princess nodded. "Suits me. Now while poor Crash is stuck in a teacup... Shall we continue?"

The hats had teleported into her hand. "Amy?"

The host, now out of her dress and back in her more casual attire, strolled over and plucked two unlucky names out of the hat.
