TWAZII

20 minutes had passed; Amy had made the wise call of taking a break. The Octonauts and Octoagents were growing a little restless, and besides, both she and Crash knew what was coming next, and knew that Crash didn't want to be stuck in a teacup until then.

"Alright big guy," she laughed. "Let's get you back in your jar."

It only took a minute or two, and soon Crash was comfortably swimming around in his new jar of strawberry martini.

"Thanks guys," he said. "Now I'm going to up the stakes a little here. It's no longer a one-way system. If you're name gets drawn out, you're complimenting the other person no matter what order the names are picked in. (collective gasps from around the room). Octonauts, let's do this!" (The Captain looked offended that Crash had stolen his line again).

Crash had the two hats in his hand again, and he cocked his head at Gwen.

"You want a turn?"

"Sure," grinned the softballer, walking over and picking two names out of the hat. She looked at them, smiled again and nodded at Crash in appreciation of his master plan. "The next interviewees are... Tweak and Kwazii!"

Both Octonauts turned a deep shade of crimson.

"Um..." Tweak said after a moment's hesitation. "I'll go first?"

"How about we do it one by one?" Kwazii burst in unexpectedly.

"What do you mean?"

"You say one thing, I say one thing and so forth."

"That's... actually really smart. Okay, let's do that," Tweak smiled, doing her very best to conceal her blush. "Alright I'll go first. One thing I love about Kwazii is his humour. Even if it's sometimes a little inappropriate, Kwazii can always make me smile."

Kwazii was grinning like a schoolboy in love already.

"Well... I have to say that I love Tweak's inventions. I love how smart she is and how she uses that gift of a brain to help us save animals." Immediately Kwazii put a paw to his lip like he shouldn't have said something, blushing hard.

"No, it's okay," Tweak said gently. "Whatever happens here is not going to come between us. This is a chance for all of us to open up, I guess. And I'd be lying if I didn't say I wasn't thankful for the many times Kwazii's saved my ass."

"Same here," nodded the pirate cat, looking like he was very much struggling with the tempest of emotions raging withing.

"That's two down," Princess reminded them. "Three more to come."

"Well..." Tweak said unsurely. Then she grinned, evidently coming up with some sort of evil plan to embarrass her teammate. "I love how Kwazii pretends to be all tough and everything, but he's got a soft side under that shell of his. I love how he opens up, I wish he'd just do it more. It's..."

Here Tweak paused, swallowing her nervousness, apparently not having previously judged where her sentence was going.

"I think it's... I think that it's cute."

Something lit up in Kwazii's eye. Tweak, who had been looking at her blue Octonaut-branded boots, looked up and saw it. Whatever it was, it made her nervous. Immediately Tweak broke off eye contact and looked away to the corner of the room.

"Well... I'd say the same to you. I love the real Tweak, the one that lets all of us cry on her shoulder when no one's around, the one that doesn't give a damn about what anyone else thinks. The one that cares so much about us."

A pause.

"My... my fourth thing," Tweak stammered. "Is that I love the way you care so much. About everything. I just... He's so passionate in everything he does, and we all love him for it."

Kwazii blushed further, something the others didn't even know was possible.

"I... I really like how you always stand up for us. All of us are thankful for it. You've always been our brave big sister, ready to take on the world for us..."

Amy raised an eyebrow. Sister? Or something more..? Another small pause passed, as Crash scribbled something down on paper he conjured up.

Tweak opened her mouth to say something, and then closed it again. She looked around the room. Other than Shellington, who was whispering something in Kwazii's ear, everyone looked at her encouragingly, nodding her on.

Tweak shut her eyes and took a deep breath.

"I..." She faltered, glancing desperately at Dashi with a look that said: "I can't do it."

Kwazii didn't look away this time. He looked straight at Tweak.

"Tweakster, whatever happens here stays here. Nothing you say will come between us, I promise, matey. Now, what do you have to say?"

Dashi whispered: "Go get him tiger" and pushed her best friend up, Crash finally allowing Tweak to rise out of her seat and walk across the room.

"Whatcha doing?" Kwazii asked? "No seriously Tweak, what are you-"

Tweak crashed her lips onto Kwazii's.

They stayed like that for a few moments more, Tweak bending over to kiss the person she'd crushed upon for years. Kwazii, helpless and completely love-struck, looking back into her eyes. Finally, reluctantly, they broke off the kiss.

"Fifth," Tweak said breathlessly. "You kiss like the wild, brave, strong, smart, hot pirate kitten I love."

Kwazii didn't stop staring into Tweak's eyes.

"My final thing I love about you..." he began. "Is everything. You're so nice and clever and creative and awesome. You're the coolest person I've met. You're cute and you're just..." Kwazii began to break down into emotional sobs. "I'm sorry... I just... I don't have the words for how much I love you."

"So stop goddamn trying," Tweak said gently, pulling Kwazii up out of his chair and kissed him again, not caring who saw.

"I love you so much," Tweak was heard to whisper tearfully.

"I love you too," Kwazii mumbled back through Tweak's neck. And: "You're so incredibly hot."

All in the room let them be for the moment, embracing and kissing and whispering and loving each other.
