Today was the day, Sicheng was bursting with adrenaline. The first chapter of his manga was about to be published in Hana to Yume magazine, one of the most successful shoujo magazines in history.

Publishing a manga in a magazine meant that he could catch the eyes of casual readers with much more ease, it was a struggle to make it as an up and coming mangaka with no exposure, so this was an incredible opportunity. And it was all thanks to Yuta, he knew what strings to pull and had some people who owed him, willing to do any favor he asked of.

For Yuta, it was nothing, took little to no effort at all. But for Sicheng, it was everything he could've dreamt of and more. He'd been very impatient, for the konbini to set out the newest addition of Hana to Yume, and when they finally did, it was surreal. Seeing the art that he'd hand drawn for hours, the story that had come from his heart, laid out on the thin pages that seemed so familiar from all the times he'd picked up a Shoujo magazine for leisure or inspiration.

He bought the magazine and took it home, of course, home now meant Yuta's house. He moved in with Yuta after what ended up happening with Shotaro, as the side piece of the kanbu, it was safer this way. Was it too soon? Not to them, it wasn't. This was the only way they could spend as much time together as they could, Sicheng wished he could've seen Yuta more often, but he didn't mind waiting for him.

He couldn't wait for Yuta to get home, to show him his pride and joy. While he waited, he decided to start dinner for Yuta. Every time he made food for him, he loved it more than Sicheng could've imagined. He made a mixture of Japanese food he ate day to day, and cuisine from where he hailed.

The dinner for today was Wenzhou fish balls, a dish his city was famous for. Yuta told him that he wanted to try them, probably interested due to his love of takoyaki, so of course his lover got what he wanted. After starting the meal, he took a minute to check his phone. Quickly scrolling through the reviews of his manga, he was delightfully surprised by how captivated readers were.

He felt a sense of satisfaction, knowing he provided a sense of escape from the harshness of reality that had been so cathartic for him throughout his teen years, which reminded him.

Sicheng: hey sis, I'm sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I've had so many things going on, I cannot even begin to describe it all.

Not even an excuse, he had genuinely done more with his life in the past year than the rest of his life. It was incredible to think about, he used to be so shielded from the outside world, and now he'd become enthralled by it.

Xinyu: it's alright, how's your manga going?

Sicheng: it just got published in Hana to Yume! ˶ ˶
