I wish I could unrecall
how we almost had it allJisung had barely left his room.
The familiar space that once felt warm and comforting now seemed to close in on him, suffocating in its stillness. He had barely spoken to anyone in days, his phone buzzing with unread messages that he couldn't bring himself to answer.
Even the simple act of eating felt like a chore, his appetite dulled by the ache that settled deep in his chest.
The room was dark, save for the soft glow of his desk lamp casting a muted light across the walls. Jisung sat on the edge of his bed, his head in his hands, pressing his palms against his eyes in a futile attempt to stop the tears that kept threatening to fall.
He could still hear Hayun's voice echoing in his mind, her words replaying over and over, like a record stuck on repeat.
The pain was indescribable. It was a deep, gnawing emptiness that seemed to have taken residence in his heart, leaving him hollow.
No matter how hard he tried to shake it, to distract himself with anything- music, videos, even his work- nothing could fill the void that Hayun's absence had left behind.
He let out a shaky breath, finally lifting his head to stare blankly at the wall in front of him. His gaze drifted around the room, landing on the small planet globe beside his bed. It was a simple thing, a thoughtful gift from Hayun.
Jisung reached out and gently touched the globe, his fingers brushing against the smooth surface. The memory of that moment hit him like a tidal wave, and his chest tightened painfully. He could see her face so clearly in his mind- her soft smile, the way her eyes sparkled when she was happy.
He remembered how she had laughed when they were together, her laughter filling the room with a warmth that he could feel even now.
But that warmth was gone, replaced by a cold emptiness that he couldn't seem to escape. The globe sat there, a constant reminder of what he had lost, and the life they had started to build together. Now it felt like it had all crumbled away, leaving him with nothing but memories and the agonizing reality that she was no longer his.
He clenched his jaw, trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill. But it was no use. A single tear slid down his cheek, followed by another, until he was silently crying, his body shaking with the force of his grief. He had never felt so lost, so utterly broken.
The world felt like it had stopped spinning, like everything had come crashing down around him. The heartbreak was all-consuming, and no matter how much he tried to push it away, it stayed, digging deeper and deeper into his soul.
Jisung closed his eyes, trying to focus on anything but the pain. But the more he tried to ignore it, the stronger it grew, until it was all he could feel. The memories of Hayun, the sound of her voice, the touch of her hand- they haunted him, refusing to let go.
