I know heaven's a thing
I go there when you touch me
Honey hell is when I fight with you
But we can patch it up good
Make confessions and
we're begging for forgiveness

Jisung shifted in his seat, glancing over at Hayun, who was sitting beside him on the couch, completely engrossed in the Mario Kart game they were playing. Her eyes were narrowed in concentration, and her hands gripped the controller with an intensity that made him smile. She had always been so competitive, even with something as simple as a video game.

He bit his lip to suppress a grin as her character zoomed past his on the screen, overtaking him effortlessly as they sped through the rainbow-colored track. He could feel her energy, her determination radiating off of her as she leaned forward, biting her lip in concentration. Her tongue peeked out the corner of her mouth, a habit she had when she was really focused. She was completely in her element.

And, in a way, Jisung was too, though it wasn't because of the game.

He couldn't stop stealing glances at her, his eyes drawn to the contentment on her face. It was the first time in a long while he'd seen her so relaxed. No tension in her shoulders, no sadness clouding her expression- just pure enjoyment.

And for a moment, the weight of everything that had happened between them seemed to fade into the background.

It wasn't that everything had magically healed between them- they were still working through their emotions, still figuring things out. But in this moment, in this little bubble of time where they were simply two people playing a video game together, everything felt...right.

His heart swelled as he watched her, his chest tightening with an overwhelming sense of fondness.

He let out a light chuckle as Hayun let out a victorious cry, her character zooming past the finish line, leaving him far behind in second place.

"Yes! First place again!" she cheered, raising her arms in triumph before glancing over at him with a competitive glint in her eyes. "You're really not making this difficult, Jisung."

Jisung laughed, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah, I guess I'm off my game today." He had barely been paying attention, too distracted by her to even care about winning.

She was completely in her element, and he couldn't bring himself to tear his eyes away from her long enough to focus on the race.

"You're just not trying hard enough," she teased, a mischievous smile tugging at her lips as she got ready for the next race. "Come on, don't hold back."

Jisung's smile softened as he looked at her, his chest tightening again.
How could she be so at ease right now? How was it possible for her to just sit here, playing Mario Kart, as if nothing else in the world mattered?
