Adrien watched as his best friend practically skipped along the streets, happily chanting "Summer!" over and over again. He grabbed Alya by the hand and spun her around in a circle excitedly.

"Nino! Calm down!" Alya laughed, grabbing onto Marinette to right herself.

"Babe, how can I calm down! We're finally free from that prison!" He whooped and punched his fist in the air.

Adrien chuckled fondly. Normally he didn't share much of the same enthusiasm as the other kids his age when it came to summer vacation. "Vacation" for him probably meant staying locked at home all day.

"I finally get to sleep for more than two hours!" Marinette sighed wistfully.

Despite being in the middle of summer, the air was cool and humid. The sun hid behind clumps of cotton-like clouds.

Upon Alya's insistence, the first thing they did as soon as they got out of school was to stand in line for tickets to a museum exhibition. Alya insisted that they'd go and visit in the form of a double date. Marinette told him later that it was also probably an excuse for her to check if the artifact had any relation to the Miraculous or not. Adrien was going to meet Nathalie there anyway, so there was no getting out of it.

After grabbing their entrance passes, Nino suggested that they take a break at a nearby coffee shop while waiting for the exhibit to open.

It was difficult to find one that wasn't filled with people, but they managed to settle down at a shop that wasn't as packed.

They sat under the shade of an umbrella while waiting for Nino to come back with their order. Marinette leaned her head against Adrien's shoulder and yawned, mumbling something about how he felt like a pillow. Alya scrolled through her phone absent mindedly.

Adrien scanned the crowd for familiar faces. The only person he could spot from where he sat was Alex. The red-head was conversing with her dad and chewed on a mini croissant. She listened to him talk attentively. Adrien was both pleasantly surprised when he overheard two familiar voices from a table behind them. They were speaking in a foreign language. They spoke in hushed tones and were deep in conversation.

"...alia, isn't that illegal?" The boy asked.

"It is if you get caught." His companion responded.

The pair sipped drinks from to-go cups and sat side-by-side. Thalia rapped her fingers on the round iron table restlessly.

"Have you been hanging out with the Stolls? Because you seem pretty confident in the art of property theft."

"Says the guy who was wanted across 42 states."

"At least I didn't do it on purpose!"

"It isn't even their property to begin with! We're technically doing them a favor and sparing their lives from the wrath of an angry love goddess!"

"Hey, Thalia and Percy, right?" Nino asked, walking back to their table with their drinks. Marinette grabbed her coffee gratefully and chugged half of it in one go. The pair straightened up and turned to face them.

"Ita sumus, I mean- gods dam it," Percy said, rubbing a hand over his face. "Sorry, I mean yes, we are."

"You've been spending way too much time with the other camp, dude." Thalia told him, shaking her head with a snicker.

Once the groups were re-acquainted, they engaged in friendly conversation. Turns out, Percy and Thalia were also waiting for the exhibition to open.

"If you don't mind me asking, what language were you speaking a while ago?" Alya asked, before sipping her iced drink.
