This is a big chapter so buckle up!
TW: MENTIONS OF PHYSICAL ABUSE
Madeleine never could have prepared herself for the day, everyone at school knew something was upsetting her and it terrified her friends. She was cold again, glaring at people from across the halls and most importantly, her walls were back up- even for Santana.
"Maddie, please... can just just tell me what's wrong? Maybe I can fix it." Santana begs, placing a warm hand on her cheek.
"Nothing is wrong, god- can't a girl just have a good day?" Madeleine scoffs and walks off.
Thomas rounded around the corner, his eyes scanning the halls- luckily for him the girl he was looking for had her eyes right on him.
"I'm guessing you have no idea?" Santana asks, she couldn't help sigh in relief when the boy shook his head.
"Dad's still jailed, Dallas is across the country... I really have no idea." Thomas stares at the ground, biting into his lip hard as he thinks.
"May I interject?" Isabel pops up from behind him, a smile on her face.
"Not now Izzie." Tom replies through gritted teeth.
"Oh! That's kind, especially since I actually have information on our dear 'ol sister's outburst." Isabel sasses, crossing her arms and resembling Maddie perfectly.
"How would you know what's going on?" Thomas asks defensively, deep down hurt that he wasn't the first his sister opened up to.
"Well believe it or not- despite what you think anyway, I'm not the dumb blonde little sister and I actually have this thing called common sense. If you used that pea-sized brain you'd remember Maddie had a visitor this morning, I unfortunately didn't see whom but once again I can use my common sense to put together that whoever came knocking- she wasn't happy to see!" Isabel recites before flouncing off with some Cheerio's.
"She is already trouble." Mike says with a laugh, striding over to join the conversation after eavesdropping on Isabel's rant.

"Nationals!"
Everyone in the room cheered, yet Maddie sat silent and alone- she purposely sat further away from the group, her arms crossed glaring into space. Ignoring the concerned stares coming from her girlfriend.
Madeleine's cold expression's didn't go unnoticed by her cheerleading coach, Sue attempted to lock crazy-eyes with Madeleine after Tina blew up and stormed out of the choir room complaining of her lack of solo's. The Cheer coach raised her eyebrows as all Maddie did was stare at the texts on her phone.
Unknown: 'I'm sorry I showed up unexpected.'
Unknown: 'I heard about your father in the newspaper... we need to talk about this.'
Unknown: 'Madders please, can I come by after school?'
Chills sent down Madeleine's body, they had her phone number and they called her Madders... only two people ever called her that, and one was in jail. She refused to let people give her that nickname after she ran away, Dallas once tried it out and she almost got sick.
Madeleine deleted the draft where she was about to tell them to fuck off and never text her again but instead, her hand trembled as she wrote.
'Park, 11 am.'
Unknown: 'Thank you so much Madders.'
As Madeleine left the choir room, she groaned as she was pulled back and stuck in the room with Sue, Emma and Schue.
