New York was Madeleine's element, everyday she got to go to school and just dance her heart out. It was a very different scenario from McKinley... everyone was at her level of dance so she had to work ten times harder to make her presence known. Before she knew it she had already started to get a reputation for herself.
"We have dance practice with Ms Elizabeth today..." A boy, Leo- who Maddie had met on her first day and formed a friendship with, said worriedly.
"What's wrong with her?" Madeleine asks innocently, grabbing her point shoes from her bag.
"I have been talking to some seniors, apparently she likes to make freshman cry on their first day- and she won't stop berrading you until you do." Leo squeaks.
"Well then, we better give her no reason for critiques." Madeleine says simply, dragging the boy along with her.
"Inside!" Elizabeth barks, causing Leo to jump.
"Line up, and one by one I want you to perform the steps that James taught you yesterday." Elizabeth says with a smile as she leaned back and watched the first girl like a hawk. The air was thick with tension as she roared insults at the girl.
"Leo!" She yells.
Leo fumbles as he began the steps, his heart racing as he slips and falls out of his a la seconde turns. "How the fuck did you even get accepted here!" She shrieks.
Madeleine's heart hurts as she watches Leo's eyes well up with tears as he continues his number before bursting out the room. Elizabeth's eyes scan the room hungrily before pointing at Madeleine, clearly seeing the upset girl- her eyes lit up... ready for her next victim.
"Madeleine Parker." She spits.
Madeleine holds her head up and confidently walks over, she positions herself and waits for the counts and transitions into her steps. Executing them as best as she could have in her situation, Elizabeth glares at her for a short moment.
"You could do with growing a few inches, you won't get anywhere in this industry with short legs. It completely throws off the height and grace we expect from ballet." Elizabeth speaks up.
Madeleine stays put, her head still high as she nods. Elizabeth scoffs and gets right up in her face.
"This confident cocky little brat act won't get you anywhere! Just because you were good back in Ohio means nothing here. You will not waltz into my classroom again trying to be a showoff, you'd want to step your shit up and show me some real talent- because right now I am not seeing it." She yells.
"Yes Ma'am." Madeleine says simply, turning smoothly on her foot and 'waltzing' out of her class where Leo was waiting. The other dancers follow in suit seconds later.
"How did you not shiver away when she yelled at you! That was an awful thing to say, and just plain wrong." Leo said angrily, wiping his tears.
"I've been through too much for some woman's critiques to hurt my feelings, the moment you realise that- the easier this whole thing gets." Maddie replies simply.

"Morningg Lottie!" Maddie says cheerfully as she kicks open the apartment door, balancing two coffees and pastries in her hands.
"Morning Mads." Charlotte replies swiftly grabbing the coffee's and placing them on their small table.
The girls had a small apartment together, it was a one bed one bathroom and once the girls gave it a makeover, it looked cozy and homey. Madeleine was just planning on staying with Charl until Kurt joined her in New York and they would go apartment hunting together, that way Charlotte's boyfriend Derek- could move up to New York to stay with Charlotte.
