"Do you still regret your decision?" BYJ asked with her arms crossed. She stood beside Hakun while the man watched his students spar one another in the open academy field.

"This will always be the biggest mistake of my life. I hate teaching people." Hakun watched The frown that normally plagued his face grew as he watched SuA fall to the ground. "Don't get me wrong. I feel pride that I'm training most of this batch's strongest, but the most only makes this regret eat at me more."

BYJ raised an eyebrow in silence. Deep within the field, Hyunseo extended her hand toward the grounded SuA with a bright smile. Not a single scratch or bruise blemished her perfect skin, and the dirt that clung to her uniform only did so because of her own movements. "I don't see the problem here," BYJ mumbled.

"Bora has the most potential, yet she's undoubtedly the weakest on the team. They're in their third year already, yet I'm questioning if she'll even qualify to reach Dunam." Hakun stared at SuA's flickering wellspring lamenting her incompetence relative to her peers. "I should have found a wife and settled down by now, but I got sucked into this."

"I thought she told you to call her SuA," BYJ squinted.

"She doesn't get that luxury until she's strong enough to demand it," Hakun replied.

BYJ sighed, shrugging her shoulders while she took another look at the bright students in front of her. "Even with SuA's... less than stellar growth, you cannot deny that you're a good teacher. Hyunseo and Hyeju have some of the highest combat scores in years; that's no thanks to you. Also, I hope you're not thinking about going after one of them for their alleles."

"Do you think of me that lowly?" Hakun glared.

"I know your history and your obsession with eugenics. I'm not sure if I should be relieved or more worried that you'd go after them not out of romantic interest." BYJ turned her eyes to the other instructors and their teams. "If you're that adamant on starting a family, you're more than welcome to leave after this year."

Hakun leaned against the academy brick wall with his arms crossed. "I was already planning to."

Hakun gently placed himself at Y/n's bedside. He caressed the boy's head with fear deep in his aloof gaze. With his access to the see-through world Hakun could clearly see what his senses struggled to notice. Two twin pools of energy akin to wellsprings inhabited Y/n which no other Hanam could sense. Even those with the most acute senses like Sakura failed to detect the two.

By itself, either one alone held the power to rival a Hanam despite being in a juvenile state. If given time to grow alongside Y/n, there was no telling how strong he could be. But, that was if Y/n had time to grow. Though he didn't know what it looked like, Hakun would be a fool to call this anything short of the work of the gods. The same gods that neglected the world for so long. Why now?

It hurt to leave so close to Y/n's ninth birthday. If he could, Hakun would drop everything to live a peaceful life with his family. The life he loathed initially, but had now grown to appreciate with the passage of time. Hakun wished nothing more than to watch his precious children navigate through the world. If that meant doing so without touching the military or alleles, that was fine so long as he was able to see the innocent smiles that imprinted on his heart.

However, there were things only he could do. Son Jihoon had the skills to infiltrate, but he only knew how to kill. Intelligence gathering was nowhere near his forte, and if he were to be caught, IZLand would not only lose talent, but would also find themselves in hot water. The presence of a new and powerfully dangerous criminal group has reached IZLand's radar and without critical information, Hakun was the only one fit to investigate.
