Hakun yawned as he stepped through his front door. With the sun beginning to peek over the horizon, he jogged along the city streets. Over the past year he familiarized himself with the city layout, locals, important figures, culture, and prevalent criminal organizations. After silently removing one of the few local butchers in the town, Hakun established Choi Junwoo as an integral part of the community.

There he learned of important political topics such as the new successor of the King's Treasury allele, but also miscellaneous topics like the Yoo family down the street raising a daughter they claim to have high potential.

In the capital of SM, power determines one's standing in society. A family living barely between payments could rise to a comfortable or lavish life if their child were to join the military and claim a well respected position. This opened the perfect window for Hakun to penetrate and sweep SM's lower government to probe for his theory.

However, the problem of his kin glared in his eyes. None of his offspring showed any signs of the potential that could help him infiltrate the government, so why would another one be any different? Between making a child and adopting one, the latter left less loose ends. Hakun could survey the composition of their bodies and wellsprings to check for potential, but that doesn't guarantee the child will realize it.

With the aforementioned chance of former nobodies rising through the ranks through their kin, his best option came in the form of stealing the life of a pre-established head of the house. Who better to target than the Yoo family down the street? The head of the house had not manifested his allele, allowing Hakun the perfect window to slip in.

Upon returning to his doorstep, a newspaper dropped from above. Inspecting the fibers showed remnants of energy belonging to none other than Shin Kami. Pride splayed itself across Hakun's face while he opened the seemingly innocuous sheets.

The kid's really got good potential in him.

The words strewn across the pages rearranged themselves with some glowing faintly with energy, and others fading out without a clear pattern. Through this, Hakun deciphered the message: Lee Chaeyeon soon to the position of commander, and Park Ji Hoon approaches the apex. Beware those that are perfect, for deep within their roots lies cracks.

Perfect huh... I guess I know my next stop.

Hakun entered his home where not a particle of dust sat still. Soyeon laid under their sheets in sleepwear he'd just bought her to celebrate their anniversary. Soft breaths pushed between her lips, and strands of hair strung along her fair skin. The sheets settled atop the curves he'd seen exposed many times before, perfectly outlining her figure in the bed. Without so much as a hint of emotion on his face, Hakun mixed a lethal poison into his house's water supply before setting off for work. He donned his butcher's uniform, worked throughout the day, and stopped by the Yoo household with a slab of high-grade meat to pose as a gift.

"Ah! Junwoo!! What brings you here?" Taesung asked with a wide smile on his face. His eyes gravitated to the meat in Hakun's grasp, fully expecting to accept it.

"I just thought I'd stop by to offer to cook this for you guys! I heard the rumors about your daughter, and thought this would be perfect to celebrate!" Hakun beamed.

With good intentions worn on his sleeves, Hakun took the time to observe the Yoo family while they enjoyed their meal together. The father, Taesung, didn't display any outstanding qualities. He worked a standard job and only recently became somebody through the rumors of his daughter.

Jihye, the mother, stood out in the community for her beauty. Male patrons of the butcher shop often talked about Jihye's stunning beauty and curves to die for, but she wasn't their number one. Though she wouldn't attract as much attention to their family as other desired wives, her attractive figure compared to Soyeon was bound to bring more eyes to their family than Hakun would like. But, that might all be worth it.
