The soft morning light filtering through the delicate curtains bathed the Barcelona apartment in a golden glow. I stood in the kitchen, hands full of parchment paper and flour, preparing a special breakfast for my girlfriend Alexia's birthday. The sweet aroma of pancakes cooking mingled with that of freshly ground coffee, a comforting blend filling the air.

On the table, a beige cotton tablecloth with subtle patterns welcomed the breakfast. The pancakes were a true culinary masterpiece: stacked into an irresistible tower, slightly golden at the edges, with fresh red and black berries. Juicy kiwi slices were carefully arranged, and a generous drizzle of maple syrup flowed delicately over the top, forming tiny, glistening droplets. Beside them, slices of toast, perfectly golden, were ready to be spread with homemade raspberry jam, whose sweet fragrance mingled pleasantly with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.

I looked at my preparation with a quiet satisfaction, hoping every detail would be perfect to surprise Alexia. When I heard the sound of the door, my heart skipped a beat. My girlfriend had come home earlier than expected from her morning training. With one last touch of syrup on the pancakes, I hurried to greet her, a smile on my lips.

The door opened to the golden morning light, and she stepped in, her hair still slightly tousled, embodying the natural elegance of a footballer. Her eyes immediately fell on the carefully set table, a sparkle of surprise and joy lighting up her face.

"Happy birthday, mi amor!" I exclaimed, looking at her with tenderness. "I wanted to prepare something special for your birthday, a breakfast that reflects us."

She moved towards the table with joyful curiosity, her eyes shining with happiness. I guided her to her chair, delighted to share this unique moment with her.

"You're amazing," she murmured, settling in with a look of delight. We began to enjoy our breakfast amidst a mix of laughter and sweet conversation. The pancakes melted in our mouths, and each sip of coffee seemed even more delicious when shared.

As we finished our breakfast, the excitement in the air was almost palpable. Alexia was relaxing, still thrilled by the surprise I had prepared for her. I had been eagerly anticipating revealing my second surprise, one that I hoped would make the morning even more memorable.

I took a deep breath and addressed Alexia with a mysterious smile. "You know, there's another surprise for you today."

Her eyes widened with enthusiastic curiosity. "Another surprise? What is it?"

I stood up and reached out to help her rise as well. "Follow me, and you'll see."

She followed, probably wondering what it could be. We left the apartment and headed towards the lively streets of Barcelona. The morning light bathed the city in a soft warmth as we walked hand in hand. We arrived in front of a small tattoo studio, discreet yet welcoming, with a subtle but elegant sign.

Alexia looked at the studio with a mix of apprehension and curiosity. "We're here for... a tattoo?" she asked, her gaze turning to me with a glimmer of surprise.

I nodded with a smile. "Yes. I thought it would be a unique way to mark this day and symbolise our love. I was thinking we could get a matching tattoo, something that represents both of us."

A wide smile spread across her face, her eyes shining with excitement. "That's such a great idea, Y/N. But... what did you have in mind?"

We entered the studio, where the atmosphere was warm and professional. The tattoo artist, a friendly-smiling artist, greeted us and invited us to discuss our ideas. We talked about what we wanted: a design that would symbolise our love and connection, something personal and meaningful for both of us.

After exchanging a few sketches and ideas, we chose a simple yet elegant design: two intertwined elements representing harmony and balance, with subtle details echoing our passions and our relationship. Alexia selected the placement on her wrist, and I chose mine, so that the tattoos would be visible and close to each other.

Once the tattoos were finished, we returned home, tired but beaming with happiness. We settled into the living room chair, our bodies pressed against each other, and Alexia sighed with contentment.

She snuggled against me, her arms around my waist, and looked at me with eyes full of gratitude. "I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart," she murmured, gently stroking my arm. "The pancakes were absolutely delicious, and this tattoo... I couldn't have dreamed of a more beautiful surprise."

I returned her smile, pressing my lips to her temple in a tender kiss. "I'm so glad you like it. You deserve all of this and so much more. It was my little way of showing you how much I love you and how special you are to me."

We settled more comfortably in the chair, our bodies intertwined as if we wanted to merge with the warmth and tenderness of the moment. Alexia rested her head on my shoulder, and I wrapped my arms around her, enjoying the comforting closeness. Our fingers interlaced, and we stayed there, silent, savouring the sweet intimacy.

I leaned in to kiss her softly on the lips, a gentle and tender kiss that conveyed everything words could not express. Alexia responded warmly, her lips pressing against mine in an exchange full of love and passion.

"Before you head off to your afternoon training," I said, gently stroking her face, "I want to tell you how proud I am of you, not just for your talent on the field but for the incredible person you are."

She smiled, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "I'm so lucky to have you in my life, Y/N. Thank you for everything, truly."

We continued to cuddle, savouring these last moments before she needed to leave for her afternoon training. I gave her one last passionate kiss, followed by a warm, protective embrace.

"Have a great training session, mi amor" I murmured, holding her close. "I'll be thinking of you all day and will be waiting for you tonight."

She hugged me tightly, her lips brushing mine one last time. "I promise to come back as quickly as I can."

As I watched her leave, I felt a mix of love and admiration, happy to have made her birthday so special. The apartment seemed almost empty without her, but I knew this day would remain etched in our hearts, a cherished memory of the love and connection we share.
