On Christmas morning, a gentle winter softness enveloped the air, and the sun's rays filtered delicately into the room through the thick curtains. As I woke up, I found Gio beside me, sleeping with a peaceful smile on her lips. I took a moment to watch her, her face illuminated by the first light of day. The view outside was breathtaking: a world entirely covered in a snowy blanket, sparkling under the rising sun.
Determined to start this special day in the best possible way, I slipped out of bed and quietly left the room. The chalet was immersed in a soft tranquillity, barely disturbed by the gentle crackling of the fireplace.
I made my way to the kitchen, where I took out two mugs and a box of cocoa powder. The warmth of the kitchen was a pleasant contrast to the cold air outside. I began heating milk in a small saucepan, slowly adding the cocoa powder while stirring until the mixture became smooth and creamy. The scent of hot chocolate filled the room, creating a cozy and comforting atmosphere.
Looking out the window, I saw that the snow continued to fall gently, covering the trees and slopes with a white veil. I carefully prepared the two mugs, topping them with whipped cream and a light dusting of cocoa powder. With one last glance at the hot chocolates, I took the mugs and returned to the bedroom.
I gently pushed the door to avoid waking my girlfriend and slid back into bed beside her with the mugs in hand. As she sensed the aroma of the chocolate, Gio began to wake up. Her eyes opened slowly, and upon discovering the mugs of hot chocolate, a radiant smile spread across her lips.
"Merry Christmas, my love," I murmured, handing her a mug. "I made hot chocolates to start the day."
Gio accepted the mug with a radiant smile, sitting up to take a sip.
"Merry Christmas, baby," she replied with a sparkle in her eyes. "This is exactly what I needed."
Then, without warning, she placed a soft kiss on my lips, the hot chocolate in our hands warming us as much as that tender gesture. We settled comfortably under the covers, sipping our hot chocolate while watching the snowfall outside. Gio leaned towards me, setting her mug on the nightstand, and took my hand.
"I couldn't imagine a better wake-up," she said softly, giving me another kiss. "Thank you for this sweet gesture."
I smiled at her, gently stroking her face. "I'm glad you like it. This Christmas is already perfect with you by my side."
After enjoying our hot chocolates, we got ready for a day of winter adventures. The sun began to warm the air, and the snow sparkled like diamonds under its rays.
We made our way to the ski slopes, where we plunged into the descents, laughing all the while. Gio gilded with ease, while I tried to keep up, often ending up in a fit of laughter from a clumsy fall. "Look at me, I'm making a real spectacle!" I exclaimed as I found myself on the ground after a misstep.
Gio burst into laughter and rushed to help me up. "Oh, don't be so hard on yourself. That's what makes skiing fun!" she said, giving me a tender kiss on the cheek. "The important thing is that we're having fun."
After a morning of skiing, we decided to indulge in some sledding. We settled side by side on a wooden sled, our joyful screams echoing in the crisp air as we raced down the hill.
"This is amazing!" I shouted, laughing uncontrollably. "You're a sledding expert!"
"I love sharing these moments with you," Gio replied, looking at me with affection. "Look at how happy you are!"
In the early afternoon, we stopped to build a snowman. Gio added charming details, like branches for arms and a bright red scarf. We rolled the snowballs together, and Gio placed the carrot nose on our creation.
"What do you think of our masterpiece?" Gio asked, adding the final touches.
"It's perfect," I replied with a smile. "Just like you."
The sun was beginning to set, painting the sky with hues of pink and gold. We headed back to the chalet, our cheeks still red from the cold.
We settled in front of the fireplace, wrapped in a wool blanket. The crackling of the fire and the warmth of the chalet created the perfect cosy atmosphere as we exchanged our gifts.
I handed Gio a small, carefully wrapped package. As she unwrapped it, she discovered a delicate bracelet with a tiny silver star.
"It's beautiful," she said, admiring the bracelet. "Why a star?"
"To remind you of the stars under which we spent the night on our first date," I explained, looking into her eyes.
She hugged me tightly, a tearful smile on her lips.
"Thank you, it's the most wonderful gift. I'm so happy to spend Christmas with you."
I held her close, breathing in the comforting scent of the fire and the Christmas tree.
"I love you, Gio. This Christmas is perfect."
After Gio gave me her gift, we stayed there, cuddled up together, exchanging soft kisses and tender caresses. The warmth of the fire and the love in our hearts made this moment a precious memory that we would cherish forever.
