Son Of Chaos - One Shots/Mini Stories

Beach Day

I went to the beach this past weekend and watch little kids play in the ocean. Got inspired. I also included a request by teasdalemm77 , keep the ideas coming!

It was family weekend. And this month they chose to spend it at the beach on earth. It was a warm summer day, making it a perfect time to spend in the sun.

Zoe, who was currently five, immediately jumped out of the car as soon as Sally parked it. Racing to the water like a moth drawn to a flame. Percy followed just as quickly, laughing right along with her.

Annabeth helped Sally and Paul unload the car of beach supplies and toys. Little Charlie was now racing as fast as his small stubby feet could carry him to catch up to his sister and dad who were already in the water.

Poseidon and Chaos soon showed up as well, helping put up the umbrellas. Soon, they were all enjoying some much needed time together.

Charlie's attention quickly turned to the sand and toys. He made his way back to the adults, grabbed the bag of toys and dumped them in the sand. He looked through them until he found the tiny plastic green shovel. Next, a little castle bucket and waddled to the water. Annabeth followed along. Intending to join him in whatever castle he attempted to make.

Percy was still in the water with Zoe. He was using his control over the water to lift her up and play, surfing the small waves. Both would probably stay there all day. Poseidon soon joined in the fun which started a splash war between the three.

Sally and Paul sat under the umbrellas for a while. Enjoying the scenes before them. Sally couldn't be happier as she watch her son from afar. She was so proud of him.

Hours passed and Zoe was enticed to come out of the water by the sound of the seagulls piled together. She walked to them slowly, trying to surprise them. Then she attacked, running towards them with little shouts, "fly!" "Fly!" The birds scattered but didn't go far. It was adorable when Chao joined in. Her giggles filled the air. 

Annabeth was fully invested in creating the most architecturally sound city of sand there ever was. Actual small castles were being built as the three became ten, with details only Annabeth could make. Percy joined her when Zoe ran off with Chaos. He wasn't much help though, but she let him make the basic shapes then follow behind him and perfect them.

Both Zoe and Charlie dragged Sally around, pointing at shells and random things. Poseidon and Chaos found themselves sitting under the umbrellas with Paul. All three smiling at their kids and grandkids. Paul soon grew annoyed by two bickering immortals.

"And please tell me how you think you are the favorite?"

Poseidon laughed, "Well because we go to the underwater palace and explore the ocean. They love it when we do stuff like that!"

Chaos grew a little jealous, "well, we go on trips to other planets! I would like to see you try that!"

The bickering had been going on for a few minutes now with each immortal trying to one up the other and Paul had enough. "I don't think either of you are their favorite grandparent."

Both Poseidon and Chaos turned to him with questioning faces.

All he did was point towards the kids. Both Zoe and Charlie were tackling Sally onto the sand, laughter and giggles filling the air as she laughed along.

They should have known. Sally was obviously the favorite. They adored her. It wasn't fair. Poseidon pouted as he realized his failure. Chaos crossed his arms and leaned back and pouted as well.

Paul couldn't believe them. Fricken gods and their obsession on winning or being first in something. It drove him crazy.

Before it was time to leave Annabeth really had built a city. It was beautiful. Emphasis on was. Percy weaponized Zoe and Charlie and led them on an attack to conquer the sand city. Before Annabeth knew what was happening a war cry sounded and Zoe and Charlie rammed into the buildings. 

"Nnooo!!" 

Sand flew everywhere and she was tackled to the ground by Percy. Laughter filling the air as their children rampaged the sand city. Annabeth was smiled but yelped as Percy suddenly took to the sky with his wings. She wouldn't admit it but she totally screamed. Percy only laughed as he held her tight and dove straight into the ocean. 

The kids chased after them as the other laughed at their antics. 

As the sun began to set Chaos snapped his fingers and the car was loaded up. Charlie was being carried in Annabeth's arms to the car as the others began to follow.

Zoe stopped in her tracks when she saw they were leaving. Tears forming in her large sea-green eyes. "I don't wanna go!" She proclaimed loudly.

Percy kneeled down in front of her. "Hey now, we will be back."

She looked up with big doe eyes. "You promise?"

Percy's heart almost melted completely. "Yes, I promise." Tapping her little nose with his finger and smiling. "Come on, Luke has ice cream at home that we need to steal."

At the sound of ice cream she took off running to the car. He just chuckled and followed suit. 

Poseidon hugged his grandkids and son before flashing away. 

"I'll see you in a bit." Chaos stated to the family as he vanished from sight as well. 

The rest piled into the car to head back to the apartment to unload and get their stuff before returning home. 

Beach days were perfect days.
