I stood under the full moon, my heart racing with anticipation. Xandros led me to a secluded clearing, the trees surrounding us like sentinels. The air was alive with the scent of damp earth and blooming wildflowers. I felt his hand in mine, warm and reassuring.

"Trust me, I'll be with you every step of the way," he said, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

I nodded, taking a deep breath. As we stood under the moonlight, Xandros began to transform. His body shifted, his limbs lengthening, his senses heightening. I watched in awe, feeling the magic within me stirring.

My own transformation began, my body shifting, my muscles stretching, my senses expanding. I felt my teeth sharpening, my nails lengthening. A soft gasp escaped my lips as my body hair grew thicker, turning white as snow.

I looked down, marveling at my new form. My fur was a radiant white, shining like moonlight. I felt powerful, free, and yet, a part of me was still scared.

Xandros padded closer, nuzzling me gently. I felt a surge of comfort, my fears easing. Together, we ran under the moonlight, our paws pounding the earth in unison. The wind rushed through my fur, my heart soaring with joy.

As we ran, I felt my emotions raw and unfiltered. I was no longer just a witch; I was a wolf, wild and untamed. Tears of wonder streamed down my face, my heart full of gratitude. Xandros had given me this gift, this new perspective.

But as the run continued, I began to feel a creeping sense of unease. My wolf form was exhilarating, yet unpredictable. I stumbled, my paws tangling in a hidden root. Xandros caught me, his jaws gentle as he guided me back to my feet.

My heart raced. What if I lost control? What if I hurt someone?

Xandros seemed to sense my fear, his eyes locked on mine. He padded closer, his voice a soft growl. "Trust yourself, Miranda. You are a wolf, but you are still you."

I took a deep breath, focusing on Xandros' words. I let my wolf instincts guide me, and slowly, I began to feel more confident. The forest blurred around me, the trees becoming a green-brown haze as I ran.

As we reached the edge of the forest, Xandros slowed, his ears perked up. I followed his gaze, my heart skipping a beat. A figure stood in the distance, watching us.

I growled softly, my hackles rising. Xandros placed a calming paw on my shoulder. "It's okay, Miranda. It's just a fellow wolf. We mean no harm."

The figure approached, its features becoming clearer. It was a woman, her hair a wild tangle of brown locks, her eyes gleaming with a knowing light.

"Welcome, young one," she said, her voice husky. "I've been waiting for you."

I felt a shiver run down my spine. Who was this woman, and how did she know me?

Xandros stepped forward, his tail wagging. "This is Elara, a wise and ancient wolf. She's been a mentor to me, and now, to you."

Elara's eyes locked on mine, her gaze piercing. "You have a special gift, Miranda. A gift that could change the course of our world."

I felt a surge of excitement mixed with fear. What gift? And what did she mean?
