The darkness was alive, pulsing with an energy that coursed through my veins like liquid fire. I felt it in every fibre of my being, a primal call to hunt, to feed, to survive.

Aston and Valois flanked me, their eyes gleaming with an otherworldly light. We stood at the edge of the forest, the trees looming before us like sentinels.

"Tonight, we hunt," Aston whispered, his voice barely audible over the pounding of my heart.

I nodded, and my senses heightened as I scanned the landscape. The wind carried the scent of prey, a sweet, intoxicating aroma that drew me in.

We moved as one, our footsteps silent on the forest floor. The moon hung low in the sky, casting eerie shadows that danced across the trees.

Our quarry was a young buck, its coat a rich, chestnut brown. It grazed peacefully, unaware of the danger lurking in the darkness.

I felt a thrill of excitement, a rush of power as I stalked my prey. This was what I was meant to be, a creature of the night, a hunter.

The hunt was on. I chased the buck through the forest, my senses heightened, my heart pounding with excitement. Aston and Valois flanked me, their eyes gleaming with an otherworldly light.

We weaved through the trees, our footsteps silent on the forest floor. The buck darted and dodged, but I was relentless, driven by a primal urge to hunt, to feed.

Finally, I closed in, my fangs bared, my heart racing with excitement. The buck let out a terrified bleat as I sank my teeth into its neck.

The taste of its blood was intoxicating, a rich, metallic flavour that coursed through my veins like liquid fire. I felt a rush of power, a sense of satisfaction, as I drank.

Aston and Valois joined me, their fangs bared, their eyes gleaming with excitement. We feasted on the buck's blood, our senses heightened, our hearts pounding with excitement.

As we fed, I felt a sense of belonging, of being part of something ancient, something primal. I was a vampire, a creature of the night, a hunter.

Finally, we finished, our thirst sated. The buck lay still, its body pale, its eyes glassy. I felt a pang of regret, a sense of loss. But it was quickly replaced by a sense of satisfaction, of power.

We stood, our eyes gleaming with excitement. Aston smiled, his fangs bared. "You are one of us now," he whispered.

Valois nodded, his eyes gleaming with approval. "You have taken the first step," he said.

I smiled, my fangs bared. I knew that I would never be the same again, that I would always be a creature of the night, a hunter.

And with that, we vanished into the darkness, three creatures, united in our hunger, our thirst for blood.

We walked for what felt like hours, the darkness seeming to stretch on forever. Finally, we emerged into a clearing, a vast expanse of open space that seemed to stretch on forever.

In the centre of the clearing stood an ancient mansion, its walls towering above us like a monolith. The windows were boarded up, the door hanging crookedly on its hinges.

Aston smiled, his fangs bared. "Welcome to our home," he whispered.

Valois nodded, his eyes gleaming with approval. "You will be safe here," he said.

I hesitated, my heart pounding with excitement. Something felt off, something that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

But Aston's words echoed in my mind, "To truly understand the darkness, you must become a part of it."

And with that, I stepped forward into the unknown.
