Jungkook's breath was coming out heavy. His whole body was covered in sweat, Move after move made him feel elevated, made him feel closer to letting go.
"I want you to understand that this old school, kind of toxic masculinity type of articles have no place in "Layover"."
Jungkook grunted and kept going, closing his eyes and his breathing getting faster.
"If you think that you can't keep up with me, you can look for another job."
Jungkook's face contorted, trying to hold back from shouting.
"I'm sure you have interviewed plenty of women but keep these opinions to yourself."
"Fuck, Taehyung!", Jungkook shouted as he couldn't hold it back anymore, landing a final hit on the punching bag and falling on the floor, trying to calm his breath while sweat run down his face, his black t shirt and shorts sticking to his body. He bit the straps of his boxing gloves and took them off one after the other.
Taehyung's words were still burning in his mind and even after one hour of hitting the punching bag he still felt angry.
Who the fuck did he think he was? Did he call Jungkook a womaniser? Seriously? He didn't know him like that, actually he had no idea who Jungkook was and he never bothered to find out either.
And to be called a jock because he liked working out? He even implied that he had toxic masculinity. Jungkook cursed and kicked the punching bag with his leg even though he was still on the floor of his apartment.
He tried to calm down but he couldn't let it go.
He didn't return to the office, no, he went straight home and worked out. He wasn't even in the right mind to go to the gym and interact with other people. He needed to be alone and find inner peace through punching something.
He closed his eyes, cursing for having to go to the office tomorrow and wishing for the weekend to come faster.
He had thought in the past about finding ways to get on Taehyung's good side but he was no suck up and also the man was insufferable. There was no pleasing him.
In the beginning Jungkook tried to be nice and did his best to accommodate the elder's needs and wants about his articles but nothing was good enough. Jungkook was always met with criticism, snarky comments and a serious face. There was nothing to break Taehyung's armour. The man was a robot.
Jungkook sighed and sat up, checking his phone which had a couple of missed calls from Namjoon. He would probably want to know what happened and why Jungkook left work like that. He really wasn't in the mood to speak but he didn't want to be rude so he called him.
"Are you serious? Why didn't you pick up Kook, we were worried over here," Namjoon answered the phone scolding him.
"Sorry hyung," Jungkook sighed. No matter how much they teased him, he loved both Namjoon and Jin very much and they were like his big brothers. The fact that they cared for him was a given and he couldn't question it. "I just got pissed off and I had to get out of there."
"Yeah we saw how you were when you left. What did he say to you?"
"I really don't want to talk about it."
"Okay I get it. Anyway get dressed and meet us in one hour."
"What?"
"We are going to an exhibition and you're coming with us."
