The door slammed behind him and Taehyung threw his phone on the coffee table and landed himself on the couch, face shoved in the pillows.

He could barely remember how he made it home from Jungkook's house.

The events of the whole night were replaying in his head over and over again, like a broken record.

He remembered the way Jimin had touched the younger, and how Taehyung felt when he saw them. Jimin was his best friend but still he felt like grabbing him and pulling him away from Jungkook. The idea of others touching the younger made his stomach turn and made him feel weird.

Taehyung always knew what his preference was. There wasn't even a single doubt in his mind about what he liked and the first time he saw Jungkook, he felt like he was hit by a truck. The younger was so gorgeous and completely his type. But he knew, he had to draw a line. So to make sure nobody suspects anything, he was being extra professional towards Jungkook.

But he was only human and he couldn't resist being a bit selfish. He would call Jungkook in his office more and occasionally he would have him stay in the office late and that would give Taehyung the opportunity to look at him without the fear of being seen. It could be called misuse of power but looking was all he was allowed to do so if he had a chance he would take it.

But since a few nights back, when he met Jungkook at that bar, his interest intensified and he couldn't keep him out of his mind. Work had been tough this past week and Jungkook's presence had made everything tougher. Taehyung kept looking for him and trying to find ways to talk to him but he failed miserably every time.

He wasn't allowed to forget his place. He was the younger's boss. Taehyung shouldn't interact with him too much. He could be accused for favouritism and god forbid someone realised how he felt.

And then there was the magazine and the people working there. He knew his father had his people reporting back to him. He had to be perfect at his job with so many things being at risk at the moment. He let out a long sigh.

Because of his behaviour, he was sure the younger hated him. He had clearly heard him say that he wanted to kill him. The words hurt but knowing that Jungkook was thinking of him, even in that way, was some kind of weird comfort. He never thought Jungkook could be interested in him. He was an interesting young man, with so much to offer. Why would he care for Taehyung who was nothing but a boring, stuck up, workaholic? Plus, Taehyung would swear Jungkook was straight.

But tonight.. Tonight Jungkook with his actions made known that he might be interested in him but Taehyung fucked it up by panicking and raising a wall between them.

Sometimes, he seriously was an idiot. He wanted to get to know the other man better, he wanted to spend time with him but there were so many things getting in the way and so many reasons why he shouldn't. If people in the company realised he was gay and evolved with one of his employees, all hell would break loose.

His father would strip him of everything he had worked for and the pain of being a failure was greater than the pain of being alone.

He hadn't been in a relationship since he was a university student. Flirting, dating and all these nice things, were only a memory. Maybe that's why instead of kissing Jungkook back and getting him back to his apartment, he ended up calling him 'Mr Jeon' and ruining it.

Taehyung groaned, shoving his head deeper into a pillow. His head hurt. He wanted to sleep and forget what kind of a fuck up he was. But if he wanted to be honest with himself, what he really wanted was to drive back to Jungkook's house and tell him that he was interested too.

He kept thinking the way Jungkook kissed him - his soft lips and how they made Taehyung's heart skip a beat when they met his own. He tighten his grip on the pillow and felt like a teenager having his first crush.
