Putting pen to paper sounds like such an easy thing to do; in fact it is. What's hard is when you have to actually make that pen create something beautiful. Especially, when your mind is far from where is should be.

I look around the room, trying to get some inspiration but nothing comes. It's like, something has my mind as a hostage and I don't even know what is is. How am I supposed to escape from the unknown?

I sigh and drop my pencil in defeat. I give up. Dramatically, I groan and hide my head in my arms on the desk.

"Oh, don't worry, Kellin. It's not like this is due today or anything," Jack said sarcastically. I don't even lift my head when I flip him off. I don't need his crap right now. I just need a break. Although I haven't done much lately, I'm exhausted.

"I have some great news for you three." I heard Mr.Way's voice say. I look up and see him smiling with a pile of papers in his hands. As frustrated as I am, I'd always give Mr. Way my full, and undivided attention.

"Look at this," he said as he lays out the papers for us to see. I don't know what they are for, it just looks like a lot of paperwork to me. The only thing that really catches my eyes is a lease contract.

"What is all of this?" I ask.

"I have a friend who owns the shopping center down the street. I told her about your business and she loved it," he said enthusiastically.

"But I thought this was just an assignment?" Alex asked.

"It is, but I thought this could be something more. You know, you boys are very smart and if we could get this to actually happen-"

"So you want us to start our own business?" I interrupt.

"Yes," he said as is if this was an everyday thing.

As much as I wanted to believe that it was crazy for 3- seventeen year olds to start their own business, I was highly intrigued. After all, just the other day I was having a small, mental breakdown, not knowing what I was going to do with my life and not knowing what job I would have in the future. With this, I'd be set and even though it'd be hard at first, eventually we could be making some serious money and my family could be proud of me. Was it crazy for me to be thinking like this?

Before I could say that I was in, Alex downplayed the whole thing before my eyes.

"That's ridiculous," he said and of course Jack agreed.

Crap! I wanted them to be all for this plan. Maybe I was just being selfish. Maybe Alex and Jack already have plans for their future and this would interfere.

"Uh, yeah. You're right. It is a bit silly." Mr. Way said in defeat. It was so sad, he had just strutted up to us, confidant high, just for Alex and Jack to turn him down in a hot second.

He gathered his papers together in it's previous form and walked back to his desk. I was a bit heart broken but Jack and Alex didn't seemed fazed at all as they went back to their work. I looked down at my blank paper and I knew exactly what I wanted to do, I wanted to make this a real business. I mean, how cool would that be? A nice, little smoothie place for teens to hang at before they ho to training. It's right in our field and great for the environment. So why the hell shouldn't we do it?

I ignored all morals and stood up. I didn't even look twice at Jack and Alex before strutting right over to Mr.Way at his desk.

"Mr. Way, I would like to take you up on your offer." Confidant, I smile at him and can't help but feel proud of myself. Sure this may have just started as an irrelevant project, but is now going to be a part of my career, I'm determined.
