WRONG NUMBER
- Billie -
2 weeks later...

Angelica is two weeks old and so far, being parents has been challenging, but also so sweet.

We rarely get to sleep since she wakes up to eat all the time and she cries a lot unless she's being held.

It's been really hard for us to adjust to this lifestyle, but we're trying.

We're still both young, learning and navigating parent life.

But I wanna get out and Nevaeh keeps refusing. "C'mon, baby, it's just for the night." I sigh. "Gel will be fine with my parents."

"Billie, we have a newborn." Nevaeh says sternly. "And you wanna go to a party?"

"It's our friend's birthday though. They really want us to come." I frown. "You're ridiculous. I'm not having this conversation anymore and I will not be staying home alone with our two week old daughter." She replies. "You're the one who wanted a baby so badly, so act like it."

"Nevaeh, don't act like that. You're getting all mad for no reason. It's just a few hours." I roll my eyes. "I said no!" She shouts, making Angelica cry in her arms. "Look what you're doing." Nevaeh says to me as she tries to soothe the baby to calm down.

"What I'm doing?" I scoff. "You're the one yelling."

"Look, I really don't wanna fight right now." She sighs. "Not while I'm holding your child."

"You act like she's just my kid and not ours." I respond. "'Cause you're not stepping up for fuck's sake. I do everything for this kid and you wanna go to parties and live a normal life like we don't have a newborn daughter?" Nevaeh says. "I'm always doing everything and anything to keep her from crying, to keep her asleep, to keep her happy and content, and you're over on your phone all the time, texting, and you wanna go out, partying!"

"You act like I do nothing!" I reply. "I help out all the time. I watch her when you need to sleep, I feed her when you're sore, I do a lot of shit, Vae!"

Nevaeh puts Angelica down on the bed and puts her hands on her hips. "She's trying to sleep and you're over here telling me you wanna go party. You're ridiculous." She says after pulling me out of the room. "I'm ridiculous? You're the one telling me I don't take care of my child!" I respond. "Because you're not doing everything you need to! Bil, I know you wanna go out, but we can't."

"Yeah, we can." I groan. The sound of Angelica's cries boom over my words and Nevaeh sighs. "I'm not having this conversation right now." She says before walking back into our bedroom.

She's literally so overdramatic.

We can go out. I already asked my parents and they're fine with it.

I just need a break.

Nevaeh and I haven't been talking a lot today.

She's been mad at me and I get it. I'm being a dick.

I just still don't understand why she won't go out with me. It's completely fine for us to go to a party. We can just have fun and then come back home to Angelica.
