Luna had spent the last few weeks healing both physically and emotionally. Her classmates watched with a blend of curiosity and admiration as she gradually rejoined their daily routines. The physical wounds from her attack had healed, but the emotional scars were still fresh. Despite this, Luna was determined to reintegrate into academy life as seamlessly as possible.

Her return to normalcy was marked by small victories. She was no longer just the girl who had been injured in an attack; she was becoming a part of the group again. Every smile, every shared joke, and every glance exchanged with her classmates was a step towards reclaiming her sense of belonging.

However, the complexity of her situation remained. Luna was still fulfilling her mission, secretly reporting to the criminals, even though her allegiance was increasingly torn. The camaraderie she was experiencing at the academy was in stark contrast to the cold, calculated life she had lived before. The internal conflict she felt was mounting as she continued to play the role of the loyal informant while trying to embrace her new life.

One morning, as Luna entered the classroom, she could sense a palpable buzz in the air. Students whispered excitedly to each other, their faces lit with anticipation. It wasn't long before their instructor walked in, his presence commanding immediate attention.

"Good morning, everyone," the instructor began, his tone carrying a note of seriousness. "Today, we'll be discussing internships."

A collective murmur of excitement filled the room. Luna felt her pulse quicken. Internships were a significant milestone in their training, offering a chance to work in various stations or even in different regions. The competitive nature of these placements made them both coveted and dreaded.

"Internships are a critical part of your development," the instructor continued. "They provide practical experience in real-world situations. Each year, around 12,000 students apply for a few hundred spots. To stand out, your application must be exceptional."

The room was abuzz with whispered speculation and nervous excitement. Luna's thoughts raced. The prospect of an internship was both thrilling and anxiety-inducing. It could be a golden opportunity, but it also meant she'd be under even greater scrutiny, increasing the risk of her true loyalties being discovered.

The instructor's words were interrupted by a knock on the door. The classroom fell silent as the door opened to reveal one of the academy's top officials, Director Jonathan Hayes. His presence was commanding, and the room's energy shifted as he entered.

"Luna, could you step outside for a moment?" Director Hayes requested.

Luna's heart skipped a beat. She rose from her seat, casting a questioning glance at her friends. They watched her with a mix of curiosity and concern as she followed Director Hayes out of the classroom.

In a quiet office, Director Hayes turned to her, his expression serious yet encouraging. "Luna, we've been keeping an eye on your progress. Your combat skills are exceptional, and you've outperformed many of our current officers. We believe you're ready for a direct internship and a beginner's license."

Luna's mind spun with the implications. This was an extraordinary opportunity, one that could change her career trajectory. Yet, it also brought with it heightened risk. She tried to steady her nerves as she replied, "Thank you, Director Hayes. I'm honored by the opportunity."

Director Hayes nodded, a hint of approval in his eyes. "You've earned it. We have high expectations for you. Just remember, this will be a significant step forward in your career."

As Luna left the office, her mind was racing. She had hoped for this opportunity, but now that it was real, the weight of her dual life felt even heavier. She worried about what the criminals would think if they discovered her new position. The pressure of maintaining her cover while navigating her new responsibilities was overwhelming.
