As they struggled to come up with a new plan, Arthur's mind was racing with ideas. He knew that they had to think outside the box, to come up with something that the power wouldn't expect.

"Merlin, can you try to communicate with the power?" Arthur asked, his voice low.

Merlin's eyes widened in surprise. "Are you sure that's a good idea, Arthur?" he asked, his voice cautious.

Arthur nodded, his jaw set. "We need to try something different," he said, his voice firm. "Maybe if we can understand what the power wants, we can find a way to stop it."

Merlin nodded, his eyes locked onto Arthur's. "I'll try," he said, his voice soft.

As Merlin began to concentrate, Arthur could feel the air around them grow thick with tension. The power seemed to be watching them, waiting to see what they would do next.

Suddenly, Merlin's eyes snapped open, his face pale. "Arthur, I think I've made contact," he whispered, his voice trembling.

Arthur's heart leapt with excitement. "What does it say?" he asked, his voice low.

Merlin's eyes locked onto Arthur's, his expression grim. "It says that it will only stop if we can answer its riddle," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Arthur's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. "What's the riddle?" he asked, his voice firm.

Merlin hesitated, his eyes darting back and forth. "It says... 'What can be broken, but never held? What can be given, but never sold?'"

Arthur's eyes widened in surprise. He had heard this riddle before, but he had never been able to solve it.

As he thought, the power seemed to grow more agitated, its energy swirling around them like a vortex.

"We need to think," Arthur said, his voice low. "We need to come up with an answer, and fast."

Guinevere nodded, her face set in determination. "I think I know the answer," she said, her voice firm.

Arthur's eyes locked onto hers, his heart pounding in his chest. "What is it?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Guinevere's eyes sparkled with confidence. "The answer is... a promise," she said, her voice clear.

Arthur's eyes widened in surprise, and then a smile spread across his face. "That's it," he said, his voice firm. "The answer is a promise."

As they spoke the words, the power seemed to falter, its energy dying down like a spent flame.

Arthur let out a breath of relief, his heart still pounding in his chest. They had done it. They had solved the riddle and stopped the power.

But as they stood there, basking in the glow of their victory, Arthur couldn't shake off the feeling that this was only the beginning. That there were more challenges ahead, more battles to be fought.

And he knew that he was ready. He was ready to face whatever came next, as long as he had his friends by his side.
