Uzui wanted to avoid fighting with Sanemi. All he wanted to do was go back home to pick up his stuff and head straight back to his girlfriend.
He scoffed as they took their stance at the training grounds, "are you sure you want to fight? I'd rather go back home to Miyuki. She must be waiting for me." He groaned, pissing Sanemi off even more.
When he vanished with his Wind Breathing, Tengen took his swords out and blocked him instantly with his Sound Breathing. He wasn't even interested in the fight.
"What is it? You're scared to fight me??" Sanemi roared, "I will take your head back when I visit her!"
"You talk a lot for someone who wants to fight-"
"What are you guys doing here?!" Miyuki needed a minute to comprehend what those dumbheads were trying to accomplish by baring their swords at each other.
"Baby, I told him I didn't want to fight. I swear I would've gotten home had he not dragged me he-" he blocked Sanemi's attack instantly before pushing him away, "Can't you see that I'm talking to her?? Where are your eyes at?! Stop interrupting!"
"Oye, Miyuki..." Sanemi's voice scared her a little, "don't tell me this thick skull is your boyfriend. I'm gonna laugh if you say yes."
"He is my boyfriend" she just blinked at him, "and he's much better than you are."
"SAY WHAT NOW-"
"I'm your opponent," Tengen was before him in a flash, "keep your eyes on me, dumbass." If Sanemi hadn't blocked that attack, Tengen would've surely broken a few of his ribs.
"Stop fighting!" She ran to interrupt them as Sanemi retaliated to Tengen's attack.
"GET OUT OF MY WAY!" Sanemi didn't realise that he swung his hand too hard.
When Tengen saw Sanemi's blow land on her forehead, he stopped breathing.
"SHINAZUGAWA!" He stopped his hand from hurting her any further and watched her fall unconscious.
"MIYUKI!" He quickly held her in his arms to check her pulse, "she needs to get to Shinobu's right away!" He said when Mitsuri and Obanai came running.
"I'll take her," Mitsuri quickly picked her up before speeding to Kocho's.
"Shinazugawa," he was so angry that his eyes went white, "now you've gone and done it."
"I didn't mean to-"
"You wanted to fight me, didn't you?" Tengen was out of his mind, "I should've knocked you into a coma before she even got here". He attacked Sanemi with such brute force that Sanemi had to use his Wind Breathing to avoid any damage to himself.
Their fight messed up the entire training ground, alerting the other Hashiras as well as a few members of the Corps around with what seemed like a whole earthquake.
Mid-fight, Tengen saw an opening and let go of his sword to take a brutal swing at Sanemi's face and that was the last thing the Wind Hashira saw before blacking out.

"Is she okay?!" Tengen had rushed to Shinobu's as soon as he was done knocking Sanemi out.
"Well, I'm glad she is..." she said, "I know this is very early to say anything, but rest assured the baby is also fine."
And with that, Tengen's whole system shut down.
Miyuki woke up with a fever and her vision was blurry, "are you alright?" Tengen quickly moved to her side and examined the bruise on her forehead.
"Yeah, I'm just dizzy." She said, "and nauseated."
He quickly realised that she also had no idea about it.
"Why would you do that?" Tears were falling down her face because of her hormones, "why would you pick a fight with him like that? What if he hurt you?"
"I'm so sorry, Miyuki," he hugged her, "I'm much stronger than he is, I can assure you that."
"Where's Shinazugawa san?" She asked Shinobu when she entered the room to check on her, "Thanks to Uzui san, he was almost in a coma, but we've managed to keep him out of it for now."
"Now for the most important thing..." Shinobu had to break the news to her and when Miyuki heard, she didn't know how to react.
"Are you sure?" She was in utter disbelief.
"100%. But it's too early to say anything so please be extra careful. Congratulations, you two! You can go home whenever you want to. Just rest up a little before you start working again."
She was too scared to look at the expression on Tengen's face. She knew that Hinatsuru was early into her pregnancy when she died.
And Tengen, on the other hand, was scared if she'd be fine with this after having lost a fully developed baby.
They knew they had to think through it before talking to each other about it.
"I'm keeping it," she said before getting up to leave.
"You didn't even talk to me about it!" He needed a minute to process the information.
"You don't have to be a part of it if you don't want to."
"It's my kid, too! What do you mean I don't have to be a part of this?"
She was already too scared of what else he'd say. She quickly went home as he followed her. "Yuki, listen to me."
"What is it? Are you leaving me? Are you going to tell me that you want to break up with me?"
"Why would you even decide to keep it without even asking me!? It's my kid as well, I want to be a part of the decision too and you're not letting me do it!"
"I want this kid, I'm growing it, in my body. You can leave if you're not pleased with my decision." Her strong maternal instincts were already kicking in. He scoffed in disbelief before leaving her house abruptly, "I can't do this today. I need to think."
A few days later, Ubuyashiki sent his crow to Miyuki's.
"Douma has been spotted in the Northeast! A few Kinoto are already there and they need backup."
This was a dream she shared with Tengen. But he was nowhere around when she needed him. She knew it would be dangerous for her child but what was the purpose of anything if he didn't even want it?
And she couldn't let Ubuyashiki down after all that he'd done for her. She couldn't say no.
"I guess I'll let this fight decide if my baby can make it or not, that way I don't have to fight with Uzui san or upset him anymore," she took up her sword, her tears of despair dropping on the sheath of her katana as her heart went out to Tengen.
She was so upset when he got mad at her. She'd never seen him get angry at her before and now she felt terrible for upsetting him. She loved that man so much that it hurt.
"I really do love you very much, Uzui san, and I wish you accepted the both of us as we are." She tied her katana to her waist, "I hope you don't mind that I'll be trying to fulfil our dream by myself."
