One morning, Dr. Alexander suggested to Bernadette, “How about you come with me to the hospital today? It might be a nice change of pace, and I can show you around.”

Bernadette agreed, curious about the invitation and eager for a distraction from her usual routine. As they arrived at the hospital, however, they were met with an unexpected and overwhelming scene.

The entrance was swarmed with media personnel, cameras flashing and microphones thrust towards them. The crowd erupted with questions as soon as they noticed Dr. Alexander and Bernadette.

“Dr. Alexander, is it true you’re romantically involved with Bernadette Lacuesta Cuevas?”

“Bernadette, how do you respond to the allegations against you being the murderer of Clarissa Villar, your husband Maxim Cuevas' paramour?”

“Dr. Alexander, what’s your stance on the ongoing trial?”

The barrage of questions was relentless, and both Dr. Alexander and Bernadette were taken aback by the sudden intrusion into their private lives.

Dr. Alexander immediately stepped in front of Bernadette, trying to shield her from the frenzied media. “Please, give us some space,” he said firmly, his voice cutting through the chaos. “We are here for a professional visit, not for media coverage.”

Bernadette, visibly shocked and distressed, clung to Dr. Alexander’s arm. “I didn’t expect this,” she whispered, her voice trembling.

Dr. Alexander responded, his tone steady but concerned. “I know, it’s not ideal. Let’s get inside and away from this crowd. I’ll make sure we’re protected.”

He guided her through the throng of reporters, trying to maintain a calm demeanor as they made their way into the hospital. Once inside, they found a moment of respite, though the intrusion left both of them shaken.

Dr. Alexander looked at Bernadette with a reassuring expression. “I’m sorry about that. I didn’t anticipate this level of attention. Are you alright?”

Bernadette took a deep breath, nodding slowly. “I’m okay, just a bit overwhelmed. Thank you for handling it.”

Dr. Alexander nodded. “We’ll take it from here. Let’s focus on getting through the day and dealing with this later.”

They proceeded with their hospital visit, though the media frenzy lingered in their minds, adding an unexpected layer of stress to their day.

After a while, Dr. Alexander looked at Bernadette with a concerned expression. “I’m afraid I have to step away for an urgent surgery. It’s something I can’t delay.”

Bernadette nodded, understanding the demands of his profession. “I understand. Don’t worry about me.”

Dr. Alexander continued, “There’s a lounge area here where you can rest if you need to. I want you to be comfortable. Feel free to use the couch if you need to sleep or just relax.”

Bernadette smiled appreciatively. “Thank you. I might take you up on that. It’s been a long morning.”

He gave her a reassuring nod. “Of course. I’ll be back as soon as I can. If you need anything or if the situation changes, just let me know.”

With that, Dr. Alexander hurried off to the operating room, leaving Bernadette in the quieter surroundings of his office lounge. She took a moment to settle onto the couch, the weight of the morning’s events slowly easing as she found a brief moment of peace.

As Bernadette tried to relax on the couch, the door to the lounge suddenly opened. Expecting Dr. Alexander, she was surprised to see a glamorous woman enter. The woman exuded confidence and elegance, immediately capturing Bernadette's attention.
