Victoria's POV

I woke up to a loud knock on the door, quickly sitting up and pushing my hair back.

Wait, did I fall asleep in the office? Seriously?!

Another forceful knock echoed through the room. "Come in!" I called out, hoping it wasn't Mr. Hanseo.

Chae young entered, clearly irritated. "I've been knocking for like 5 minutes!" she scolded. "Sorry, I fell asleep by accident," I admitted sheepishly as she sighed.

"We've got a meeting right now. Let's go," she instructed, and I nodded, getting up. Glancing at the clock, it was already 12? I had slept for a whole hour, oh my goodness!

I grabbed my bag and trailed after Chae young to the meeting room. I was dead tired, but that hour of shut-eye did me some good; feeling a tad more alive now.

...

"Alright, folks, meet Mrs. Choi Myung-Hee, our new senior lawyer at Wusang Law Firm!" Mr. Han announced with joy.

We all went quiet, and then he signaled for us to applaud, so we did. I had a strange feeling about this woman, and Chae young seemed to share the same sentiment. And hold on, Mrs. Choi?

Wasn't she already at Babel? I've heard about her before. I guess she was a secret until now.

"Okay, I won't blabber much, but that Geumga Plaza is gonna crumble by 11 pm. Got it?" Mrs. Choi stated arrogantly.

"Yeah, I'll inform them right away," one of the individuals at the meeting table responded. Chae young turned pale, taking an angry gulp of water.

Hold up! Are they planning to destroy the building with people inside?! Is she out of her mind?!

Now I get what Mr. Hanseo meant when he said Mrs. Choi gets the job done even if it means harming someone.

That's messed up.

"Oh yeah! Mrs. Cha young, I heard your father runs the show there, I hope he's pleased," Mrs. Choi sneered, a wicked grin spreading across her face as Cha young shot daggers at her.

"Say what you want, old woman," Cha young retorted with controlled anger as Mrs. Choi chuckled.

"Alright, meeting adjourned," Mrs. Choi declared before getting up and exiting. Mr. Han signaled for applause, and everyone, except Cha young and me, clapped along.

I'll make sure nothing goes down at the plaza...

...

Cha young and I bolted from the meeting room and hustled to our offices to brainstorm a fix for this mess.

I slumped into my chair, feeling the weight of the situation. "What now..." I muttered, feeling the tension rise. I dialed Vin, just to be safe. "Yo?" he answered. "Vin, we've got a major issue," I said.

"What's up?" he inquired. "Babel's got some folks set to wreck the plaza at 11 pm," I informed him, sensing his disappointment.

"Got it. I'll figure something out. Any ideas on your end?" he probed. "Yeah, sort of. What if we bring in some important Italian connections to the plaza? They won't dare to make a move with them around," I suggested with a smirk.
