"X, Xiao Lan, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
"Because Min-ge... has been alone for so many years."
"That's not true! I had xiaohua with me, remember? That little guy's the best flower around!"
For some reason, Xiao Lan cries even harder, which makes Hua Min panic even more. The more he tries to comfort the sobbing Xiao Lan, the more this brother of his cry even more.
That night, they slept under the same blanket after decades of sleeping in different beds.

"Speaking of xiaohua–" Xiao Lan's sobs instantly come to a pause. "–would you like to see it?"
"... it managed to live this long?"
Xiao Lan's tone of voice sounds weird but Hua Min, who has filtered lenses for his little brother, ignores this oddity. "It's been under my care since then but I rarely drop by to see it." Because that bastard might be there, too.
Just the mere thought of seeing the person who killed him causes Hua Min to shiver. He can never forget that person's face nor that person's smile. In fact, the official they met reminded Hua Min of that prince.
Their smiles resemble each other so much that Hua Min had this momentary illusion that the prince was standing before him. Fortunately, he knows that person would never change his own appearance.
That prince is so proud of it that he would never dare to take on another's.
...
Much to Hua Min's surprise, Xiao Lan announces that they will not go back to the Kingdom of Ying. The former prince is curious and voices out his thoughts, only to receive a befuddling answer from his brother.
"They need us no longer. The Kingdom of Ying shall stand on its own henceforth. I believe they have the strength to do so."
But the kingdom they saved before Ying was under their care for more than thirty years yet Ying was only under their umbrella for a mere few years?
It does not make sense.
Xiao Lan must have realized something, right?
"Xiao Lan, are we in danger?"
"... perhaps," the younger brother admits but his pace does not slow down. "The official we met last time is not ordinary." A frown settles on his lips, making Xiao Lan look somber. "I felt threatened when I provoked him, and Min-ge knows that it is not easy to arouse my sense of danger—"
"—because no one is powerful enough to do so in the past."
Which means whoever is on their trail now, that god will truly pose a threat. To Hua Min, who is as weak as a chicken compared to others like him and only having his face and brain, all the gods who had been after him in the past fell to his tricks.
They are his only advantage, which annoys the fuck out of him.
Even when he died in the past, he cannot even gain an advantage in strength.
