Strive 192: Conflicting One's Feeling

Kujira's POV

The next day...

"Okay, so you guys will do the daily and try to build up trust with the community of Middle City. Along with your daily, try to ask questions to those you recently rescued and see how the city life is treating them." Mato explains to us.

"Alright then," Yosei nods to Mato's explanation. 

"Okay, so-"

"Hey," Kum interrupted Mato.

"Hmm?" Mato raises his head in confusion. 

"I'm not going to do the daily today," Kum says calmly.

"Why not?" Yosei asks.

"I can't. I need to use this wisely. That's all I'm going to say. I can always do the daily and get paid another day." Kum looks down. "Today... I need to think of something and then act on it."

"I understand that you're worried about your friends, but do not mind it. I'm sure that they'll bounce back after some time off. It's the reason why I started this meeting with them. Kibishi and Taoreta, I mean." The Founder explains, which makes me a bit mad if I'm being honest with myself.

"Akuma, listen. I'm not the type to say this, but you have to let some people alone with themselves." Mato says with a frown.

"You can't expect to fix everything. I understand; friends got hurt, things turned out bad for you guys, and now you guys are at your limits these days. Surprisingly, you all didn't transform, but I assume because Kibishi's presents didn't make you guys stressed. Ah, which would be a great way to invent something after examining Kibishi's heart-"

"Founder. Please..." Kum slowly looked at the founder with glowing yellow eyes. "...If you don't stop talking about Kibi like he's some kind of tool, I might lose it. Got that?" Kum's voice deepens to show that she's not joking around.

"S-sure..." The Founder shook his head.

"Heh. You had that coming after pulling that stunt you did the last time, Founder," Kibun smiles after seeing Kum scare the founder. Honestly, the founder can be too 'blunt,' so he gets what he deserves, I guess.

Kum held her head and shook it. "Seriously,  you guys can go on without me. I'm heading back and coming up with a plan to get them back on their feet."

"Understand," Mato nods. "But," Mato raised his right index finger, "I'd advise you not to threaten the founder like that. He's an adult, and you have to respect the adults. He let it slide because he had it coming. But still, don't get it in your head that you could do that, okay? It'll start with him and then anyone who seems 'wrong' to you. Seriously,  it has happened in the past already."

"Sorry. I'm just tired from being awake all night. I still need time to help those two, so now, if you excuse me, everyone." Kum stands up and bows to everyone. She then started to walk off.

Kum stops and looks at me. "Hey, Jir. Have a walk with me. You can do that daily later if you want, but I need to talk to you, please."

"Sure," I nod, then stand up.

"Excuse me," I bow at the adults, then quickly rush to Kum's side.

Yosei stayed behind and then made a sigh sound. But despite that, she'll stay behind.
