*Roxy is spending a relaxing day with Cliff.*
"Hey, Cliff, I've been thinking. Ever since my mom found out about us, she keeps talking about commitment and moving in together. She's even pushing for a wedding. I know love is wonderful and all, but isn't it too soon to be thinking about such serious things? I mean, we've only been together for a few months. What do you think? Are we crazy for considering this, or is mom onto something?"
"Damn, really? That does seem a little quick if you ask me. I mean we haven't even been a couple for a year. Maybe you're mum thinks I'm too handsome for my own good~"
*He teased with a smirk.*
"Either way i'm not ready to get married quite yet."
*Roxy shakes her head, laughing.*
"You won't believe this, but my mom is complaining about your name. She says it's 'too white' and sounds like a cowboy from a western! Seriously, mom, give the poor guy a break. "
*He laughs at the statement.*
"Damn- that's a first, I mean- there's worse names out there..""he took a sip of his soda.*
"I guess the fact i'm white isn't helping my case much."
*He chuckled.*
"Is there anything that will help your mum..'love me'. I assume she's pretty protective of you. Can I do anything to try and impress her? Or am I screwed?"
*He chuckled more.*
*Roxy smiles warmly.*
"Don't worry, Cliff. My mom may be a bit particular, but she has a heart of gold. Maybe start by showing her that you're a genuine and caring person who really cares about me. And don't worry about the name thing. It's just Mom's sense of humor. But seriously, give her some time. Once she gets to know you better, I'm sure she'll come around. And hey, a little charm goes a long way. You've got this!"
*He smiles warmly back, feeling a bit better.*
"Thanks, Roxy. You're absolutely right, your mom is just looking out for you, and I respect that. Your mother may be the only woman I fear in this world"
*He joked about the last part.*
"I'll prove with time that I'm here to stay."
*He winked at her.*
"Can I be honest with you about something for a moment?"
*Roxy grins, appreciating Cliff's understanding.*
"Absolutely, Cliff. You can always be honest with me. What's on your mind?"
*He looks at her straight in the eyes with a genuine and honest look.*
"I love you, Roxy. I think I have loved you for a while, you've made me realize the happiness i've been missing in life."
*He put his hand on her cheek, caressing it lightly with his thumb.*
"I don't know how to explain it, I just really love you, I don't want to screw this up by doing something stupid."
*Roxy's eyes sparkle with joy as she listens to Cliff's heartfelt confession.*
"Oh, Cliff, hearing you say that means the world to me. I've felt the same way for a while too. You've brought so much light and happiness into my life. And I promise, we won't screw this up. We'll navigate this journey together, learning and growing as we go. Let's cherish the moments we have and support each other every step of the way. I love you too, Cliff."
