I banged on the cop's window as I passed, anger flaring when I saw them sleeping. I looked up to see Jill and Kirby banging on the window, looking across the street. I then turned my gaze to the other house, seeing Olivia be slammed into the window by the killer. "Shit," I cursed, running towards that house.
I was glad the front door was unlocked and I ran inside without really thinking. I went up the stairs, went into the room, and paused when I saw how absolutely everything was covered in blood and Olivia lay dead on the floor, her guts hanging out. I turned my head away, but then, her phone rang. I grabbed it, anger coursing through me. "What?"
"Welcome home Hazel," the voice said with a dark chuckle. "Enjoying the preview of future events?"
"Why don't you come for me? Instead of killing these innocent kids? You got the balls for that?" I exclaimed.
"Oh, poor Hazel. You think this is all about you? You think you're still the star?"
"This isn't a fucking movie!"
"It will be."
"These are innocent people."
"Spare me the lecture! You've done very well with all this bloodshed, haven't you? How about the town you left behind?" I gripped the phone tighter. "I've got plans for you. I'm going to slit your eyelids in half so you don't blink when I stab you in the face! You'll die when I want you to, Hazel. Not a moment before. Until then, you're going to suffer."
They hung up the phone and I stood there for a moment, taking in what he said. "Hazel?"
My head snapped over to the staircase, my eyes widening when I saw Jill. "Jill? Stay there, okay," I said, holding out my hand to try and keep her from getting closer.
"Is she...?" She looked at me with tear-filled eyes.
I gave her a sorry look, "Don't look, okay?"
She shook her head, glaring at me. "She called you the angel of death."
I was taken aback by her words but then I noticed the killer coming up behind her. "Look out!" I exclaimed, pushing her out of the way.
The killer still got her arm, slicing down her forearm before I got to him, the two of us falling down the stairs.
Once at the bottom, I pushed him off of me just before the police came in. "He's in here," I said, pushing myself off the ground.
"Where is he?" One of the officers asked.
I looked back to see an open back door. "He was there," I said. The officer nodded and they both took off looking for him.
Jill came down the stairs holding her arm to her chest as Kirby and a boy came in. "Jill," I said, stepping closer to her.
"Don't," she snapped, glaring at me.
"Baby, what happened?" the guy exclaimed, rushing to her and guiding her out of the house.
I sighed, making my way out of the house. My eyes widened when I saw multiple police cars and an ambulance. Dewey came over, giving me a sorry look. "Haze, are you okay?"
"Yeah, fine," I said, wincing as I reached up to feel my head. I wasn't bleeding, so that's a good thing.
"Hazel!" I heard my mom exclaim as she rushed over from her car that was now parked in the driveway. She came over, pulling me into a hug before holding me at arm's length away, looking over me. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine, mom. I hit my head but that's all."
"But, you're bleeding," she said, looking at my hands.
