I woke up in the hospital, happy to see my mom and Mark. They said that I had to have surgery but that everything was healing nicely. Kirby made it out alive, thank goodness. Gale was doing okay, only having been stabbed in the shoulder at the stab-a-thon, and Dewey made it out, this time with no injuries.
Billy and Stu didn't make it. The gunshots were bad, Stu's going into his right lung, and a piece of the bullet going into Billy's heart. They didn't get surgery quick enough and ended up bleeding out on the way to the hospital.
I took that pretty rough. It felt like Randy all over again. Like a part of me died.
Mark was very supportive and tried to be here for me the best he could. But I know I'll never be the same. Not when the boys are gone forever.
But I can try to keep their memory alive, just like I do with Randy. And I can work on becoming happy again. One thing that helped a lot, is I found out I was pregnant while in the hospital, and somehow, the baby was completely unharmed by everything, even after falling off a roof and being stabbed in the stomach.
So I decided to put all of my time and effort into the baby. It was a miracle that nothing happened to them back in Woodsboro, and they came in a time of deep sorrow for me. It was truly a blessing. We were thrilled when he finally came and we called him James Randall Kincaid. James is after Mark's father, and Randall is after Randy.
I brought him to the cemetery every time we went to Woodboro to visit my mom. I would sit at Randy, Billy, and Stu's graves for hours, talking to them, James playing or sleeping in my lap. Sometimes, it felt like they were there, and were really listening. Other times, I was just talking to some chucks of stone. But either way, it helped.
"So then, James came running downstairs with the biggest smile on his face, and it reminded me of the time you-" I was cut off when I heard Mark from behind me calling out.
"You guys ready to go? We'll be late for the movie."
James jumped up, his little hand grabbing mine. "Come on, mommy, let's go."
I laughed, "Alright, alright," I said, getting up and brushing off my jeans. I started walking with him, letting him pull me along while he giggled. Just as we made it to Mark, I looked back, smiling, when I saw the three guys standing there, watching us. Randy raised his hand, waving just as James giggled, and I looked over to see him waving wildly.
"What are you waving at, buddy?" Mark asked him as he opened the cemetery gate.
"My friends," he said, and I smiled to myself, shaking my head.
I turned back, no longer seeing them but feeling a flutter in my chest, knowing that Billy was right. They will always be with me.
Authors Note: That's a wrap on this series! 🥲 It's very bittersweet publishing this final chapter and I'm going to miss Hazel and her story.
Thank you to everyone who has read, voted, and commented on this series! This was my first Scream fanfiction, and I was shocked once I started getting so many reads and votes. I am truly thankful for everyone who has been along for Hazel's journey.
I will be posting the first chapter of my new Scream series tonight! The first book is called Tainted Love and is a BillyxOC with the main character, Serena, being Stu's twin sister. It's a different dynamic and is a lot shorter than this series, but was fun to write.
Thank you again to everyone and I hope you stick around to read my future projects!
Stay beautiful. Stay strong. Stay Nerdy.
~Anna ❤️
