Charlie started dragging Trevor across the floor, into the living room. "Got it figured out yet, Hazel? Keeping to our remake theme, Trevor is this generation's Billy Loomis only this time, he doesn't survive. And we're the innocent victims: Hazel and Randy."
Jill walked closer, holding the knife to my throat. "See, with you, the world just heard about what happened. But with us, they're gonna see it." Charlie held up his phone, showing videos of him killing Marnie and Olivia. "It's gonna be a worldwide sensation. People gotta see this shit. It's not like anyone reads anymore," she scoffed, giving me a look. She brought her face close to mine as she grinned. "I'm gonna know fame like you never even dreamed of."
"Last two teenagers standing, just like Randy and Hazel," Charlie said, walking closer and kissing Jill. She kept the knife next to my throat, not taking her eye off the three of us.
"You're amazing," she said to him.
"And you're the perfect victim," he said.
She moved the knife, chuckling. "I was so believable today, wasn't I? I mean, I told so many lies, I actually started to believe them. I really think that I was born for this."
"How could you do this?" I asked.
"Do you know what it was like growing up in this family? Being related to Sidney? Growing up, it was always about her and how tragic what happened was. And living in this town, everything was all about the massacre and you." She stepped closer, glaring at me with the knife pointed at my chest. "You were always so fucking special. Hazel the survivor. Well now, I'm the special one."
"You'll slip, they always do," I said, narrowing my eyes at her.
"Come on, Charlie. Let's go on with this." They walked a couple of feet away, but she kept the gun pointed at us. He handed her the knife. "You have to be strong and hold still. Ok?"
"Yeah, yeah, old school, like Billy and Stu," he started jumping in his spot, hyping himself up. I glanced at the boys, remembering when they did this. "Come on, baby, get it up. Come on. Shoulder me, shoulder me, shoulder me. Get it up!" I gasped when she ended up stabbing him in the heart. He looked at her in shock. "The heart? That's not how we rehearsed it."
Billy spoke up. "You said it. Me and Stu. Trevor and you."
"What the media really loves, baby, is a sole survivor. Just ask you know who. Trevor was your partner and you, you were the idea man," Jill said as she stabbed him in the stomach and let him fall to the ground, stepping over him.
"How could you do this to all of your friends?" I asked, looking at the two boys lying dead - or almost dead.
"My friends? What world are you living in? I don't need friends. I need fans. Don't you get it?! This has never been about killing you. It's about becoming you."
"What about Kate? Your own mother?" I asked, shocked she could be so heartless.
"Collateral damage," she shrugged. "It's sick, right? Well, sick is the new sane. You had your 15 minutes. Now I want mine!" She came closer, glancing at the boys before looking back at me. "I mean, what am I supposed to do? Go to college, grad school, work? Look around, we all live in public now, we're all on the Internet. How do you think people become famous any more? You don't have to achieve anything. You just gotta have fucked up shit happen to you." I shook my head. Just like Mickey and Hallie, she wants fame. "So, you do have to die, Hazel. Those are the rules. New movie, new franchise. There's only room for one lead and, let's face it, your ingenue days are over."
With that, she stabbed the knife into my stomach. I gasped, yelping in pain, as a familiar burn went through me.
"No!" Billy and Stu both exclaimed.
I held my hands over the bleeding wound, feeling the blood start to pour out, and looked over at Billy. His eyes were dark, and he was about to say something when Stu took us by surprise, jumping at Jill. Her eyes widened as he came at her, and then he froze as a gunshot went off.
"No!" I screamed, seeing him stumble back, blood quickly staining his shirt, the gunshot right in his chest.
He looked at me, blood coming out of his lips and he smiled sadly, "I love you, sunshine," he said before falling back into the wall and sliding down, breathing shallowly.
I tried going towards him, but she held the knife out. "Don't take another step," she said, glaring at me. "None of you are making it out of here this time."
"Fuck you," I snapped, stumbling as I started feeling dizzy.
She laughed, lifting the gun and pointing it at me. "I wanted to savor this, but I'm over it now." Just as she pulled the trigger, I was pushed out of the way.
I turned around, seeing Billy leaning against the counter, an almost identical wound to Stu's. "No! Billy!" I cried.
He looked at me, smiling just as Stu did. "We'll always be here, baby. I love you."
I sobbed as his eyes started to close but didn't get to get any closer to him as Jill stalked up to me. She looked at me with pure hatred in her eyes before laughing. "Face it, Hazel, you knew this day would come."
I shook my head. "You're not going to get away with this."
She raised her eyebrow, stabbing me in the stomach again. I gasped out, coughing up some blood. I fell to the ground after she pulled the knife out. She raised the gun, seeming to be debating on shooting me before pursing her lips and shaking her head. "No, you can bleed out." She turned away, going into the adjoining living room and cutting the tape off of Trevor before setting things up to make it look like he and Charlie had attacked her. She was going crazy, totally wrecking the room and herself.
I looked over at Billy, seeing his eyes closed, and I couldn't tell if he was still breathing or not. Then I turned to look at Stu, and I also couldn't tell. I gulped, gritting my teeth as I pushed myself off the ground. I stumbled to my feet and noticed both the boys looking at me with lazy eyes, and smiled a little, realizing that they were still alive. "I'm going to end this. Don't worry." I said to them, dragging myself into the living room.
I heard Jill scream, finding her in a pile of broken glass. She looked up at me, cuts littering her face and a bloody wound on her shoulder now. "You've got to be fucking kidding me," she said with a groan. "Why won't you fucking die already?"
"You can't get rid of me that easily," I said, bending down to grab the gun she had left on the ground near Charlie.
I looked back at Jill to see her stand up, holding her shoulder for a moment, sidestepping, about to go for the knife she left near Trevor, but I cocked the gun.
"Don't even think about it," I said.
She looked back up at me and narrowed her eyes. "You're not going to kill me. You're too weak for that."
I shrugged, walking closer. I stopped, picking up the knife. "You think I'm weak? Do you know how Roman, your cousin, died?"
"Dewey shot him in the head," she said.
"Mhm, after I stabbed him a few times. Same as Mickey. I killed him. And Sidney? Billy may have made the final cut, but I'm the one who stabbed her." Her eyes widened at this, especially as she walked backward, her body stopping against the wall, and I brought the knife closer to her chest.
"You told me you'd protect me, for Sidney, remember?" she mumbled, eyeing the knife.
I nodded, smiling. "A little poetic then, isn't it? For you to die the same way as her, fifteen years later?" I said, before driving the knife into her chest. She screamed out, gasping as I pulled out the knife, stabbing her once again, and then, finally, I looked her in the eyes and placed the knife against her throat. "Say hello to Sidney for me." With that, I dragged the knife across her neck, slicing it open and letting her drop to the floor.
I stumbled back, dropping the knife and gun as I grabbed onto the back of a couch. I heard sirens and turned around, just as the front door busted open.
I smiled, seeing Dewey and Mark rushing in. They came straight to me, Mark pulling me into his arms.
Everything happened fast, my vision going blurry as he led me out of the house and to the ambulance.
