Chapter 1 : Through the veil

Harry ?? HARRY??" Shouted Sirius as soon as he landed on his feets. Then he stopped for a second and look around him, everything was white and rather suspiciously looking like king's cross. Then he saw his godson a little further away

"Harry ! Thanks god you are alright, I was afraid that bitch had hurted you" said Sirius in relief before he realised that the figure had brown eyes and was taller and a little bit older than harry

"Hello Pads, it's been a while isn't it?" Said the man in front of him
"Oh god, Prongs, I have missed you so much, I am so, so sorry for what I did to you, I would never forgive muself!" "There is nothing to forgive pads, we did what we thought was best, we were only foolish to believe everyone was doing the same" His eyes were getting teary as he hugged his long lost best friend. And the it him, How could James be in front of him?
"Wait, if you're here, that means I am?"

"No well, not really, I guess you could go further if you choose to, but you can also go back
"What do you mean? I could just follow you" Asked Sirius, letting his best friend go
"If this is what you want"

Sirius stayed in silence for 30 seconds before making up his mind "well, I have wished everyday to see you again and not being hunted would be great but. I have to honour the promesse I have made you by accepting to become Harry's godfather. I can't let him deal with what is ahead of him, neither let him in charge of those awful muggles  of relatives Lily has. He is so like you, better even, he has lily's softness and your talent of getting in trouble"
"I knew you would say that" said James with a smile "As for Harry, I know everything, I guess being dead comes with some...privileges" said james with a grin. "Please do tell him that lily and I loves him so much and that we are beyond proud of him" "I will, you have my word. So I guess this is goodbye? I'll miss you a lot Prongs" "As I will, I am proud of you too pads, See you again in a very long time I hope" They hugged again and then Sirius walked in the light.

He apparated back in the department of mysteries, in the other side of that blasted arcade that nearly finished him. He saw Lucius Malefoy rising his wand in Remus's direction and immediately stupefied him before he could hex his best friend. Remus who hadn't seen him get out of the arcade and was absolutely sure he just saw his best friend die froze in shock when he saw who just saved him from Malefoy" "Si... Sirius? But How? You fell throught that goddam door to the other world?" He asked clueless "You wouldn't think I will let that bitch finish me off that easily did you?" Responded Sirius cockily

Sirius then scanned the room and understood that all death eaters were taken care of, but he started to panick instantly when he didn't see harry anywhere, he was right besides him before he had fallen throught the veil. "Remus, where is harry????" "I'm so sorry Sirius, I tried to stop him but when Bellatrix started bragging about how she killed you, he followed her to avenge you, we tried to go after him but the bloody door won't open with any spell" Sirius's eyes widened in shock "he DID WHAT??? AND NO ONE MANAGED TO STOP A 15 YEAR OLD GO AFTER THAT CRAZY BICTH WHO WANTS HIM DEAD??"

He exploded while running towards the door that indeed won't open. He blasted all the spells he could at the door before cursing "I am not staying here while my godson might get kill because of me" at the same time Dumbledore entered followed by fudge and a lot of other ministery representant "Here are, as I told you all the death eaters we captured. If you had dared listen to me minister, you would have realised how corrupted with death eaters the minister is" but fudge didn't listen to him, he was fixing Sirius and shouted "BLACK ! SEIZE HIM" "You won't do such thing ministered, Sirius is as much death eater as I am and he is under my protection" "and ours" tonks spoke loudly getting in front of Sirius like a shield, followed by Remus, Kingsley, mad eye and the other members of the order.

"Fifteen years ago you have put an innocent man behind bars without a trial, forcing him to escape askaban when he learned the real killer was still out there. Sirius is under my protection and I demand a fair trial" continued fermely Dumbledore "But, but, No ! Black is not innocent" Dumbledore abruptly cutted in "minister, after what happened today because you were too afraid to accept the truth, you are in no position to make another mistake. Sirius black is under my protection until he receives a fair trial. I suggest you don't doubt me again after you saw Voldemort with you own eyes" Fudge shivered at the mention of the name. Sirius couldn't believe what was happening in front of him but suddenly catches what he just said and the fact that Harry was not with Dumbledore

"Voldemort was here? Dumbledore, WHERE IS HARRY?" Another shiver from fudge at the mention of the dark lord's name. "Harry is safe Sirius, I made him took a portkey to my office as he was weakened by the fact that Voldemort possessed him right after he thought he had lost you"

"Voldemort did WHAT? Albus, I need to see him now, I can't let him alone after that" Dumbledore enchanted a piece of the wall that had fallen and nodded "you have no permission over this portk...." Started Fudge before shutting up as soon as Dumbledore looked at him. "Thanks" said Sirius taking the portkey and disappearing
