Chapter 12 : diagon alley

Two days after the visit to Slughorn when Harry came down the stairs and while heading to the kitchen surprised a conversation between Remis who apparently stopped by and Sirius

"And no one cared to tell me such information? I mean Amelia Bones and Igor Karkaroff being murdered. It can't be a coincidence. The head of the justice department known to be an extremely impartial woman and an ex death eater who probably was too much of a coward to dare go back to his beloved master murdered in two months. That can only mean they're moving faster than we thought" spoke Sirius's voice in an angry tone

"I know you're mad to only learn it now Sirius but as you are taking a break from the order and finally be able to enjoy time with Harry we all thought best to not worry you" Remus's voice replied softly

"That's exactly why you should have told me Moony, if death eaters are murdering witches and wizards again that means things really are becoming like the last time and I need to know about it. Remus I need to be aware of things to be able to protect Harry correctly. If anything happens to him under my care I..." Sirius's voice broke on the last sentence.

Remus's voice cut his sentence "I know Sirius, I am sorry, we were all thinking we were doing the best. I know that protecting Harry is your top priority and you're doing a great job. I mean look at you all worried. Who would have guessed that you'll become a mature and worried parent in less than two months" half joked Remus.

Harry entered the kitchen at that moment.

"Harry you're up, hi, have some breakfast" greeted Sirius with a forced smile

"Hi Sirius, Remus. I'm sorry I overheard your discussion. Is that true? Karkaroff and Amelia Bones are gone? But why?" Asked Harry

"No one really knows. Probably because the ministery is still corrupted and she didn't gave death eaters what they wanted. Or maybe because she voted for Sirius's freedom. We don't really know. As for Karkaroff as you know he was a death eater but when they returned at the end of the Triwizard tournament remember how he ran away. Well no one runs from Voldemort" responded Remus in a tired voice.

"I see. Though Sirius you shouldn't worry about me I don't seem like the kind of target they want right now. If I'm honest I am more worried about you. If they killed Amelia Bones because she voted positively at your trial I don't even want to think what they have in mind regarding you" said Harry with a little voice.

"Don't worry about me Harry, the house is under a lot of protections charms so they have no idea where I am and besides I'm not an active member of the order right now so they surely have better targets at the moment" replied Sirius

"But you won't be out of the order forever" continued Harry

"And I will be careful I promise" quickly responded Sirius

"Actually Kingsley told us that the ministery kind of thinks that they should be involved in 'the chosen one's protection' "continued Remus

"Without even considering to mention it to me apparently, how considerate." Replied Sirius between is teeths

"You don't think they're going to try something in the middle of diagon alley crowed with parents and students don't you?" Asked Harry

"No I don't there is no benefit in that but I think the ministry wants to show that they are involved with you safety" responded Remus

"I wasn't really hoping on spending the day at diafon alley with an escort. I was hoping to enjoy the day with my friends and you Sirius" replied Harry in an annoyed voice

"And you will Harry. I'll be there to check on you and no matter what everyone seems to think I won't let anyone touch a single hair on your head. Besides Mr and Mrs Weasley will be there too" responded Sirius quite annoyed that even the ministry seems to think that he can't insure his godson's security.
