KGOMOTSO

Kgomotso: "But Tlhokomelo was the one provoking us, mma!"

Mama: "But did she have to beat Tlhokomelo to a pulp?! Mahlodi!" My mom is livid now.

Mahlodi: "Mmane?"

Mama: "Do you want a case of assult?!"

I just remembered that Tlhokomelo's dad is a police officer. Eish, Mahlodi really got us in to trouble this time.

Mahlodi: "No." She's been looking down this whole time.

Mama: "And I asked you two nicely to not give me a headache while your father is gone, now look!" She takes a deep breath. "Tomorrow, we're going to Tlhokomelo's house and you're going to apologise to her, you hear me!"

Mahlodi: "Awua mmane Cleo! Yoh! I'd rather go to juvie shem!"

Mama: "Mahlodi Sebatane! My say is final. You're going!"

Mahlodi: "Ebile she deserved the beating."

Mama: "Askies?!"

Mahlodi has always had a sense of pride and it's akways hard for her to swallow it. Dinner was so tense my eyes were just focused on the TV until Hlodi and I had to wash dishes after watching Muvhango. Tomorrow I have to leave early.

SIMPHIWE

"Firstly, you want me to take you school on short notice, now you want me to pick up someone at Park Station? Hayi, Simphiwe."

Simphiwe: "Ma, please."

I'm even going on my knees. She's looking down.

Mama: "Who are we picking up?"

Simphiwe: "It's Kgomotso." Her eyes and mouth widens.

Yes!

Mama: "Okay."

Kgomotso and I planned this literally last night. I just want her to arrive safe and meet my mom of course. I feel like it's about time they get to know each other, especially since Ma wouldn't stop asking me about Kgomotso since that day she caught me talking to her. I guess it's a good thing because it shows she actually wants to be involved in my life this time, unlike my dad who - since the divorce - hasn't called me or SMSed me.
It's fine.
I've accepted it.
He wasn't fully part the past 16 years of my life.

Simphiwe: "I've already packed my clothes so I'm ready when you are."

She looks impressed.

Mama: "Okay, mfana wam'. We'll leave after 30 minutes, okay?"

Simphiwe: "Okay."

The house is quiet. I'm surprised I actually found myself missing the twins since they left yesterday. I'm quite surprised they were behaved on their last few days and I actually get along with Cebile. I could sense a bit of maturity in them. Maybe it's because the last time I saw them was 3 years ago and they were much worse than this. Kgomotso told me that by the time they're 13, they'll be behaving like 16-year-olds. Apparently that's how fast girls mature. I really can't wait for that day they mature.

KGOMOTSO

"So you are the Kgomotso my son always talks about. It's lovely to meet you." She finally greets after leaving the taxi rank and walking all the way to parking lot.

I was quite surprised she allowed Simphiwe to hold my hand as we were walking. I know my mom wouldn't allow it. I really don't know how to feel. It's exciting and scary meeting his mom. She stretches her arms and I hug her back. She has something warm and welcoming about her. Her smile too.

Kgomotso: "Lovely to meet you too..."

"Ntombele. Please, just call me Ntombele. I don't want to complicate things for you."

Kgomotso: "Ntombele, lovely to meet you."

Feels weird calling adults by their names.

Their car is beautiful and it looks expensive! I don't what model this is, all I know is that it's a Mercedes-Benz shaped like a Jeep. The Pholobas really are swimming in money!

__________

"Your mom is such a nice person!" I whisper.

Simphiwe: "Why are you whispering?" He asks chuckling. I shrug my shoulders.

We're waiting for Ma'Ntombele while she's buying a few things.

Kgomotso: "I still don't understand why you wanted to fetch me. I could've been okay with a taxi."

Simphiwe: "Not with me. I don't want you to be in a situation like that while there's something I can do about it."

Kgomotso: "But I was gonna be fine."

He shakes his head. He's so stubborn!

"Phiwe!"

Simphiwe: "MaHadebe!"

Ntombele: "Please come and help me!"

Simphiwe: "I'm coming!"

He leaves the backseat to help his mom in the boot.

This is really nice. Seeing that the mother he said was not fully involved in his life when he wanted her to be is being involved right now. I can see he even gained a bit a of weight. Maybe living with his mom was a good idea. He's really warming to her. They enter in the car again. Now we can go to Sandton.
I actually missed my girls though they're only coming the day before schools open. So I guess I'll be spending my time with my boyfriend who is sitting right next to me then. Hopefully Lindiwe won't be here so I can walk with him not having to turn my back every minute. All I really want is for Simphiwe and I to have a peaceful relationship seeing that this is getting really serious. I mean, I'm with his mom, which shows how serious he actually is with me.
