KGOMOTSO

Well I've been a clown this whole week. I genuinely thought he would act different than he did last week. The whole week he had been avoiding me! I really feel like a fool for liking him and hugging him and having that Bible study with him. It was breakfast but I wasn't in the mood today.

Khosi: "Motso baby, are you on your periods?"

Kgomotso: "I finished on Tuesday. Why are you asking?"

Khosi: "Because you've been so moody this whole week. Everyone here in this room has had enough of you!"

Well they don't know that I've been a clown this whole week.

Yonela: "Hey! Go easy on her, Khosi. She might be going through something. Are you okay?"

After being a clown since Monday? Sure, I am.

Kgomotso: "I'm fine guys."

Yonela: "Let's head down to breakfast before we miss roll call."

Khosi is the first one to leave. I think now would be a good time to tell Nela what's happening so she can understand how I'm feeling.

Kgomotso: "Nela."

Yonela: "Yeah?"

Kgomotso: "I'm actually not fine. It's Simphiwe."

Yonela: "What did that boy do?"

Kgomotso: "So Sunday we were at the library for a little chit chat."

Simphiwe said I shouldn't tell anyone about this room. I know he's made me angry, but I have to respect his wishes.

Yonela: "Oh?" I nod.

Kgomotso: "We had a nice conversation where we got to know each other. And then from Monday he had just be avoiding me and pretended not to know me at all."

I thought what had happened on Sunday meant something to him. I thought the way he did not want to let go of me when he hugged meant something to him. The conversation. How do I take back feelings?

Yonela: "I knew I wasn't mad when I had a bad feeling about him."

Kgomotso: "Nela. Not now, please."

Yonela: "But for a whole week? Today is Friday. Are you gonna do something about it or you're just gonna leave it at that?"

Kgomotso: "I'm gonna confront him."

Because five whole days of avoiding me is too much. He has to know how I feel.

SIMPHIWE

Simphiwe: "S'bu."

Sibusiso: "Sho."

Simphiwe: "You ready for the track race?"

Sibusiso: "Listen! I was born ready!"

I won't lie, I'm quite nervous as hell now. Sibusiso makes me feel intimidated on those tracks and that's because this boy can run! I've always been second best whenever I'm competing with him.

Tim: "Yo!"

"Sho."

Tim: "Draco, can we talk?"

This seems serious.

Simphiwe: "Sure, about what now?"

Tim: "Sunday."

Simphiwe: "What about Sunday?"

Tim: "Where were you after you stromed off?"

Simphiwe: "Tim, you had since that day to ask where I've been and you chose today to ask me." There's no way I'm going to answer that question.
