The young people stared in amazement at the strange man, who approached them slowly but with steady steps. His loud heels kept up through the corridor, his shadow flickering on the wall. He cautiously lifted the flashlight and handed it back to Taji. Confused, the third teammate looked at his "new" friend.

"Who the hell are you?" Lu wanted to know, eyeing the stranger skeptically. The man was wearing a grey, crumpled coat that was the same color as his hat. This concealed the upper half of his face, but the person also deliberately tilted his head downwards as if to hide his face. As if he didn't want anyone to recognize him. "My name is not that important, what is more important is that we have little time. Your life, Lu, is in great danger and we only have less than 71 hours to save you," the stranger replied. His voice sounded tired and sad, even a little rough. Cheng backed away, startled. "How?" The question stuck in his throat. How did the man know about Lu's future death? Did this man also have a paranormal ability? "Don't be afraid of me, I just want to help you. I just want to reveal the truth to you," added the man in the hat.

"So that's why you sent Taji to us in this bunker, to kill us?" Luana threw at him. The man shook his head and raised his eyes slightly, revealing a pair of round glasses. "Taji, I told you only to find the three of them, not to attack them," he cursed. Taji flinched, startled. "Did I not make myself clear enough? If you ignore my words once, you won't be able to bring your sister back," the man in the hat warned the boy. Taji held his breath tensely, fear rising in his face. "No - please don't," he gasped. "Shut up, your words are just wasting time," the stranger interrupted him and stood by Cheng, Lu and Luana. "How do we know you won't kill us or take advantage of us?" Cheng interrupted. "Please Cheng, don't make this any harder than it is, your stubbornness is giving me a headache," the man said and pulled his hat back down.

"If you would please follow me," he asked the four paranormal power bearers. The young people followed him silently, only the crunching under their soles interrupting the gloomy silence from time to time. "Where are we going?" Lu was seized with impatience. "I'll show you the place where it all began. The place that gave you the powers," the man explained. They stopped in front of a room with destroyed glass containers.

"This was the location of Project Genesis. The project to give people paranormal abilities," the stranger revealed and sighed. Lu and Cheng exchanged a confused glance. "So this used to be a laboratory?" Luana frowned. "That's right. Project Genesis was a secret experiment. Children from all over the country were abducted and given drugs, medicines and chemicals in the hope that a new human race could be developed. Humans with paranormal developments," the man in the hat explained. "That's un-", Luana wanted to say impossibly, but after everything she had experienced in the last few days, there was no more plausible explanation. "So they kidnapped children like me and then gave them powers?" Taji's heart grew heavy. He thought back to the day when a black van had stolen him.

"That's right... unfortunately," the stranger sighed. "Wait..." Lu turned to the man. "Now I recognize you. You were in the memory too! When I jumped into the past! You're the person with the hat from Tali's memory," Lu recalled in amazement. "Yes, that's right. That was me. I was hoping that my warning would protect you, and I see that you're actually still alive," the man said. "What? What do you mean I'm actually still alive?" Lu stopped, overwhelmed. The man in the hat ignored the question.

"Project Genesis" was going to be a great success. Just imagine: Children with special powers! But it didn't come to that. One day there was an accident and many of the children were able to escape. But these children had nowhere to stay, which is why many of them were admitted to hospitals," the man continued. "And what does that have to do with Lu and Cheng?" Luana interrupted him, still not believing a single word the man said. "I'll get to that in a moment," the stranger replied. "Cheng, have you ever had an accident and needed a blood infusion as a result?" the person suddenly asked. Cheng nodded in astonishment. "Yes, that's right... when I broke something many years ago..." a thought dawned on him. What if...?

"Same question to Lu: have you ever had a blood infusion?" the man wanted to know. Lu nodded, confused. "Yes, I had a car accident last year, someone hit me on a skateboard," he whispered. "Well, at the same time, a lot of the kids were still in the hospitals. It's possible you got the blood from one of the kids. A blood infusion from a paranormal child," the man with the hat finally said.

As the stranger finished the sentence, everything suddenly made sense. Cheng gasped for air, he shook his head violently, convulsively holding on to the wall. No. It couldn't be.But it made... so much sense!

"Wait... that means it was just a coincidence that we got our powers? We only got the powers because she changed our blood with the special blood?" Lu's mouth fell open. "Yes, your DNA has changed. Of course, you don't have the same strong powers as the children... but some of these paranormal powers are yours now," the man replied. "Shit... that can't be, that's...", Lu cursed.

Cheng and Lu only got their powers by a stupid coincidence. Their curse."I wanted you guys to know where your powers came from. I believe that there are still ways to get rid of these powers. To break this curse. To heal you," the man whispered, his lips quivering. "Cure us? How on earth is that supposed to work?" Lu denied. "Stop, stop, stop, this is all going too fast for me. How do you know all this? It all sounds too plausible to be true," Cheng interjected.

"Believe me, it's true. You both accidentally got children from the bunker as blood infusion partners. You were also unlucky, so to speak, that your DNA had been altered by the new blood," the man emphasized, seeming to gradually lose patience. "This can't be a coincidence. I don't believe it!" Cheng shouted angrily. "I've seen hundreds of possibilities and every time, every damn time, you've gotten your abilities from the blood infusion!" now the stranger was getting angry. "What do you mean, hundreds of ways?" Lu had a strange feeling. This person in front of him... he had powers. He was sure of it. Was it possible... that the person was also seeing visions? "It's relatively easy, even too easy to get powers. Simply by mixing blood?" Luana also seemed skeptical.

The man with the hat let out an annoyed sigh. "I knew it would be difficult to convince you this time too. But I don't have time. I have to act faster," the stranger replied. He turned to the opposite wall, stopping in front of a container with a valve on the side. "What are you going to do?" Cheng asked tensely. "I have to explain everything to you, but I can only do that if you don't keep resisting and protesting. I don't have time for that," the man mumbled. Then he jerked open the valve.

White smoke rose into the air. The room was obscured by a thick fog. The stranger put a mask on his face, but he stared at the wall. He didn't dare look at the young people. Lu and Cheng found it difficult to think, the songs slowly became heavy. "What... is that?" gasped Luana, holding on to the wall. "Is he... trying to kill us? That... bastard...", Lu gasped. Cheng also tried to stay awake, but it was in vain. The three of them stumbled to the ground, their knees giving way. Taji also sank into sleep. "I'm sorry it has to be like this. But I have no choice... one more time I must not fail... one more time Lu must not die..." the stranger whispered. Cheng tried to reach out, to grab the man, but his fingers remained numb on the floor.

"Who are you...? How do you know all this...?" Cheng gasped. Before he closed his eyes completely and the darkness engulfed him, he noticed the man in the hat turn around and look at him. Cheng managed to get one last look at his face. His heart stopped. His head rebelled. This couldn't be happening.

"I know all this because I can... see the future," the man replied. His eyes lit up.They glowed a bright orange-gold color.
