Ugly. That was the only word that ran through his head when he looked in the mirror. His tired eyes, his greasy hair. The lifeless legs that hung dormant in the wheelchair. What had he done to deserve this? To be confined to a wheelchair forever and ever. Since that day...he had not even been able to eat properly by himself. His father entered his room. Rich clothes, shimmering Rolex. "How are you, son?" he asked, smoothing down his suit. "Like shit I am. That officer was asking for me again...wasn't he?" he hissed. His father nodded. "Don't worry about it. I've got to go now. I'll see you later," the father excused himself and left the room. The son looked at his legs again. "I miss you. My friend," he whispered. All at once a grin came over his lips. Maybe the day wasn't so bad after all. "I have an idea"

Lu had gotten the message from Cheng. "The officer is sending someone to check on Shenja. We hope it's just an idiotic joke for once," Lu grumbled. Luana didn't really seem reassured, though. "Anything else?" she wanted to know. "Nah," replied the black-haired pulled. But just as he was about to get up, his cell phone rang again. It was a message from the officer. Cheng didn't find anything in the photo. But maybe you can find something out with your...power. Lu's eyebrows shot up. "Or...do...," he muttered. "What?" his best friend didn't understand.

Lu stood up and sauntered into the room. For safety's sake, he told Luana that he didn't want to be disturbed and sat down on his bed.

"Why didn't Cheng tell me?" he spoke to himself. What did that mean? Was Cheng afraid of something? Lu had asked himself that a thousand times. Maybe it was because of the powers. "Anyway, looking once won't hurt. Especially if we can help someone. Maybe I can find something in the past," Lu grumbled and zoomed in on the photo.

Then he concentrated to use his power. He felt the warmth flow through him. His eyes lit up golden, seconds later, he was lying on the bed in a daze.

(In the past)

A few moments later, Lu found himself in the body of a young woman again. More precisely, he saw the memory of a young lady with brown hair getting into a car. It was the car from the blurred photo Xiao Lee had sent him. Her hair was coming out of the chignon piece by piece, her eyes were teary and darting back and forth uncertainly. Strangely, Lu felt like he knew this woman. When she glanced in the car mirror, Lu was left breathless.

This couldn't be a coincidence, could it?

He just saw the memory of Scarlett. Scarlett Ping...the young lady from the assignment a few days ago. Lu remembered again. At that time, they had been supposed to get out the fake documents of LifeJoy company. But what was Scarlett doing here?

Why had the officer sent him this photo? Scarlett buckled her seatbelt and looked at the young man next to her. He had golden blond hair, was slim but looked rather unkempt. Expensive clothes, fancy shoes, Lu noted. "Thank you for taking me to the station. I still feel pretty uncomfortable," Scarlett muttered. "Oh nonsense, I can't sleep at night anyway. That's when I drive around a lot," the young man replied, pulling his cap deeper into his face.

 Who was this guy?

He seemed sneaky to Lu, not that Scarlett had to pay money yet. The car started and left the underground garage.

"Who are they waiting for at the station? Or are they going on a trip themselves?" the man casually inquired as he turned onto an empty street. Scarlett looked at the reflection in the window. "I want to go to my parents...we haven't seen each other for a long time. And now...wait for me at the station," she smiled sadly. The young man smiled. "That's nice, isn't it? Family is important...especially when you don't spend much time with it," the blond grumbled.
