Eunjoo’s POV:

I wash my face with cold water and touch up my makeup. Taehyung and Tan must be waiting for me. Just as I’m about to open the door, I hear some weird noises from outside. I open the door cautiously, and my eyes widen.

Shit!

Two people are making out... right there? Oh god! I quickly rush away from the scene, trying to erase the image from my mind.

I spot Taehyung and Tan waiting outside the restaurant and hurry over to them.

"Is everything okay?" Taehyung asks, concerned. I nod quickly and grab Tan's hand. "Let's go."

I think I’m traumatized after what I just saw. Oh, my poor virgin eyes!

In the car:

Taehyung is driving, and I’m sitting beside him while Tan is sly in the back seat. The restaurant was a bit far from Jungkook’s house, so it’s taking a while to get home.

No rush, though—I’m not particularly eager to go back.

I glance at Tan through the rearview mirror and smile at his peaceful, sleeping face. Taehyung chuckles softly, catching my attention.

"Thanks for today, Eunjoo," Taehyung says.

"Mr. Kim, you don’t need to—" I start to say, but he gives me a side-eye, making me correct myself. "I mean, Taehyung oppa."

He nods and smiles. "You don’t have to thank me. I love spending time with Tan," I say.

"It’s not just that. I want to thank you for taking care of Tan like a mom," Taehyung says, his eyes focused on the road.

I feel something stir in my heart. "There’s no need to thank me. It’s alright," I say, looking at Tan’s sleeping figure.

"He always craves a mom, but he never shows it to me. He’s way too mature for his age, and that’s not a good thing," Taehyung says with a tinge of sadness in his voice.

I can feel the guilt in his eyes from the side. "You’re a good dad. Your love is so strong that he never feels the need for a second mom," I say, trying to comfort him, though I’m terrible at this.

Taehyung chuckles again and says, "Then why did he call you 'Mummy'? If he really didn’t want one? No matter what, a child always wants love from both parents. But unfortunately, he only has me—a dad who’s always busy with work."

I feel bad and don’t know what to say to comfort him. Sometimes, though, people just need someone to listen, and I’m good at that.

For some reason, Tan reminds me of Jimin. But at least Tan has a dad who truly cares about him and an uncle who is way too possessive.
