The evening news broadcast was in full swing, with the camera zooming in on Vice President William Bennett as he spoke confidently about his latest policy initiatives. Midway through the interview, the host mentioned Sophia.“Vice President Bennett, I have to say, your daughter is quite remarkable. We recently had the pleasure of speaking with her at Princeton, and she came across as exceptionally kind and grounded. How did you manage to raise such a sweet young woman?”
William’s face softened, a proud smile spreading across his lips. “Sophia has always been a kind-hearted person. Her mother and I tried to instill values of humility and empathy in her from a young age. We’re very proud of the person she’s become.”
The broadcast continued with various other topics, but the mention of Sophia lingered in the minds of viewers and, most importantly, in the students at Princeton.

The next day on campus, a group of students discussed the interview they had seen on TV.
“Did you catch the news last night?” one student asked. “They talked about Sophia Bennett. She seems really down-to-earth.”
Another student nodded in agreement. “Yeah, I saw that. It’s refreshing to hear about a rich kid who isn’t just another spoiled brat. She genuinely seems nice.”
Sophia walked past them, overhearing bits of the conversation. A small, satisfied smile touched her lips as she continued on her way.

Later, Sophia and Ethan found themselves in the quiet, sunlit corner of the library. They were seated at a table, surrounded by textbooks and notes, their heads bent over their work. The hum of students studying and the soft rustle of pages created a calming background.
Ethan glanced up from his notes, breaking the silence. “So, did you see the interview last night?”
Sophia looked up from her textbook, surprised. “Yeah, I did. It’s kind of weird hearing people talk about me like that.”
“Yeah, but it’s good, right? People are seeing you for who you really are,” Ethan said, his tone thoughtful.
Sophia smiled, closing her book for a moment. “I guess so. It’s nice to know that some people think I’m not like the typical rich kid. I’ve always tried to be down-to-earth, especially here.”
Ethan nodded, a hint of a smile on his face. “Well, you definitely come across that way. I’ve seen it firsthand.”
Sophia’s cheeks flushed slightly at the compliment. “Thanks, Ethan. That means a lot. It’s good to know that the effort is noticed.”
They fell back into their studying, the conversation drifting to their classwork. The easy camaraderie between them was evident as they discussed various topics, each providing insights and support. The library’s quiet atmosphere seemed to enhance their connection, making the shared study session feel more like a comfortable routine than a formal task.
As they packed up their things, Sophia glanced at Ethan, feeling a sense of contentment. “Thanks for today. It’s nice to have someone to study with.”
Ethan grinned, gathering his notes. “Anytime. It’s been good having someone to study with, too. Let’s make sure we keep this up.”
Sophia nodded in agreement, and they left the library together, their conversation continuing as they walked out into the crisp, fall air. The day’s events had brought them closer, and both felt a renewed sense of connection as they navigated their lives at Princeton.
