Sophia walked up to the front door of her family home, her heart pounding with anticipation. She had been grappling with her feelings and the recent revelations, and now, she was ready to have a serious conversation with her father. Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door and waited.

Her father, Vice President William Bennett, opened the door with a warm but slightly puzzled expression. “Sophia, what brings you here?”

“Hi, Dad,” Sophia greeted him, stepping inside. “I need to talk to you about something important.”

William nodded, leading her to the living room. “Of course. Let’s sit down.”

They took their seats, and Sophia looked at her father with determination. “Dad, I know you hired an undercover bodyguard to watch over me, and I know it’s Ethan.”

William’s eyebrows raised in surprise. “How did you find out?”

Sophia met his gaze steadily. “Mom told me. And honestly, I’m glad you did it because otherwise, I wouldn’t have met Ethan. But I want to talk to you about something else. Dad, I like Ethan. I know you don’t want me to date right now, but can I date him?”

William’s expression shifted to one of concern. “Sophia, his role is to watch and protect you, not to date you.”

Sophia leaned forward, her voice earnest. “But he can still do those things as my boyfriend. I genuinely like him, and I believe he can balance both roles. He’s been good to me, and I trust him.”

William studied her for a moment, his gaze thoughtful. “Do you really like him?”

Sophia nodded, her eyes shining with sincerity. “Yes, I do. He’s been there for me, and I feel a connection with him. I want to have a chance to be with him, not just as a bodyguard but as someone I care about.”

William sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I see. If you feel strongly about him, and if he’s proven himself to be trustworthy and capable, then I suppose it’s worth considering. He has been a good protector for you.”

Sophia’s heart raced as she held her breath, waiting for his response.

William finally spoke, his tone softer. “Alright, Sophia. If you truly believe in him and if he’s someone you want to be with, then I’ll give you my blessing. I trust him, and he seems like a good person for you. Just remember to be careful and make sure your relationship is built on mutual respect and trust.”

Sophia’s face lit up with relief and happiness. “Thank you, Dad. I really appreciate it. I’ll make sure to keep everything balanced and respectful.”

William gave her a reassuring smile. “I’m glad we could have this conversation. I want you to be happy and safe, and if Ethan can provide both, then I support your decision.”

Sophia stood up and hugged her father tightly. “Thanks, Dad. I’ll make sure to be honest with him and keep things straightforward.”

As she left her father's house, a sense of contentment filled her. She felt relieved and grateful for her father's understanding and support. With newfound confidence, she looked forward to exploring her relationship with Ethan, knowing that her father’s trust would be a cornerstone in their journey together.
