Hyunjin's pov:
'Don't do the same mistake again.'
Mingi's words had bothered me since he said them. The schoolday was over and I was outside next to the doors of the school leaning my back to the wall and waiting for Felix to come.
I stared at a tree in front of me deep in my thoughts. The leaves had changed theirs color to yellow and orange. A couple of leaves fell to the ground when the wind reached the top of the tree and made the branches move.
'"Don't make the same mistake again"... I had to do it back then! If I didn't I would've...'
Suddenly my phone started to ring in my pocket. I took my phone and saw that the caller was Felix. I answered the call.
"What now? Is everything alright?" I asked.
"Come behind the school." his voice said from the phone.
"Okay, but why?" I asked.
"If we meet at the front yard, everybody will see us, dumbass." he replied.
"True. I'm coming in a minute." I said and ended the call.
I looked around. There was nobody to be seen. I headed to a small alley between the school building and the fence surrounding the yard that would take behind school. I quickly looked behind me and was about to sneak to the alley, but I hadn't taken more than two steps when I heard steps behind me.
I quickly looked around. The door of the school had opened and two girls had stepped out. They were looking at other direction, but they were just about to turn their heads to look at the exact place where I was standing.
I quickly sneaked behind the corner where they couldn't see me. I pressed my back against the wall and tried to keep my breath as quiet as possible. My heartbeat started to raise when I heard them coming closer. Suddenly I heard how one girl giggled:
"Can you believe it, Yujin? I'm going to a date with Hwang Hyunjin! What do you think, is he as attractive as in his Instagram-posts?"
'What the...?'
Then I remembered it. Taehyung had planned me a date with a girl called Wonyoung earlier without telling me anything. Also, the date would be tomorrow. I had completely forgotten the whole thing.
"Omg, I'm so happy for you, Wony! When did he ask you out?" another voice asked.
"Well, actually he didn't. Taehyung told me that Hyunjin has had a big crush on me for a long time, but he was too shy to ask, so he had planned a date for me and him." Wonyoung giggled again.
"Omg, girly! That's so adorable! You're literally the luckiest girl ever!" Yujin said and they both giggled as they walked away and the sound of their steps faded away.
When I couldn't hear them anymore I finally took a breath again. Then the frustration started to fill my body. I let out an angry, growl-kind of noise out of my mouth, turned around and hit the wall behind me. I immediately regretted it, because the wall was made out of concrete. I pulled my aching hand back and tried to hold a scream of pain back.
Taehyung hadn't only forced me to go to a date with someone I had never even heard of, but he also lied to her that I was the one who had a crush on HER!
"He's really begging for a black eye..." I muttered as I tried to massage the pain away from my hand.
Then I remembered, why was I even at the alley. I rushed to the other side of the school past some trashcans and a fire door.
