Chapter 18

"Thank fuck we are out of that shithole" I say a bit too loudly to Chloe earning a few stern looks from teachers standing outside the school gates.

I was so glad it was now Christmas break and we got nearly 3 weeks off. I had only been back for a week but it had honestly felt like an eternity. I only like school because of my friends and that's it.

"I agree" Chloe says while laughing. "Anyway wanna go to the park we haven't done anything together in ages"

"Yeah ok" I say while shivering. It was literally freezing today it was so icy everywhere.

We finally made our way to the park. It was completely dead and covered in ice everywhere. Chloe and I slowly made our way over into the park while stepping on the crunchy frozen grass before walking into the gate towards the swing.

I was trying my best to be careful everything but was covered in ice. Me being me I ended up slipping flat on my face. All I could hear was the laughs of Chloe who was standing right next me.

"You ok em?" She says while laughing while helping me up.

"Yeah, I'm just super clumsy" I say while laughing and brushing the ice off of me before finally making it to the swings.

We hung out of ages as we noticed it was already starting to get dark. It felt nice though just to be able to hang out together without anyone else judging me.

I felt my phone ping as I look as see multiple messages from my dad. I know he was wondering where I was.

I decide to ignore it since I'm having such a good time. I look up as I see Chloe fumbling around in her coat pocket as she gets a vape out of her pocket.

I look at her with confusion as she puts it up to her lips and takes a puff from it.
"You vape now?" I say confused not really sure how to feel. I thought she would have told me if she did.

"Yeah I guess, I started a few weeks ago someone offered me some at school" she says shrugging her shoulders. "You wanna try?" She says offering it to me.

I hesitated slightly. The idea of smoking or even vaping at this matter wasn't something I had ever really thought about. But here, in the freezing cold park with my best friend, it felt like something new couldn't hurt. Surely?
Besides I trust Chloe she's my best friend after all. And she enjoyed it..

"Sure I guess.." I say unsure feeling a mix of emotions. I knew it was wrong and definitely against my morals and definitely against my dad's. But it's just one time. Surely 1 time can't hurt that much.

I take the vape from Chloe's hand as I hesitated slightly before taking a puff.

"See not bad... right?" Chloe asks watching my closely

I exhaled before watching the vapour swirling in the air before it vanished. "Yeah it's.. different. Kinda nice actually"

"See I told you, anyway if you want you can keep it, I got loads"

I nod before she passes it back to me and I put it right at the bottom of my school bag hoping my dad won't find it before I can find a good hiding place in my room.

"But don't tell anyone about this, I don't want us to get in trouble" she says while swinging on the swing.

"Of course, plus my dad would kill me if he ever found out" I assured her.

"Anyway we can always meet up in the holidays to do this again" she says excitedly "unless you're travelling again because of your dad.." she says with a sadder tone.

"I'm not sure to be honest we might be going on holiday or back to Monaco I don't really know. I haven't been there for ages."

"Girl your rich rich, Monaco is only for millionaires I swear" she says while laughing
