It was the next morning. And I felt a bit anxious about going to school after standing up to Chloe yesterday. I'm not sure how things are going to play out.
I have absolutely no regrets about standing up to ivy, but I also knew that Chloe could be stubborn and may hold a grudge against me.
I walked through the school gates with my hands tightly in my coat pockets trying to protect them from the cold. I kept my eyes peeled looking for my friend group.
I spotted them all stood outside huddled in a little group by the benches. I spotted Chloe who was stood in the middle who was stood there laughing and joking around with a few other girls.
I walk over there acting like nothing had happened and hoped that everything had blown over since yesterday. "Hey Chloe." I say as I approach everyone. Hoping to ease the tension.
I looked at her as she didn't even look up to look at me. With a few of the girls looking at me giving a sympathetic look but turning their attention back on Chloe.
"Seriously Chloe, you're gonna act like this now?" I say in frustration. I knew she was upset over yesterday but she was just acting childish.
Chloe finally responded with a cold, icy voice. "You can go hang out with ivy if you want. We don't need you here"
"Really? You're gonna act like this because I didn't agree with how you were acting yesterday" I say. The comment stung, I didn't have a problem with Chloe but the way she was acting now and yesterday was not ok.
"Emma it's not about yesterday!" She says raising her voice. "You think you're too good for us! You think you're better than everyone else!"
"I don't, I just don't agree with you making fun of someone! It's wrong Chloe!" I say as I realise I'm now starting to shout.
"Yes you do Emma! You think you're better than us because of your ever so amazing dad!" She spits back at me. "Your always like look what I've got, I'm rich, I'm famous! You're a fucking bitch!"
"Bullshit!" I shout back at her in complete anger. "You know that's bullshit Chloe, I've never brought it up ever! And you know that, I thought our friendship meant more than just money and fame!" I scream out in anger as I storm off from her as I've had enough of her conversation.
I stayed quiet in lessons which was unlike me but I was so deep in my thoughts. Maybe I was wrong for standing up against Chloe, I mean I was her best friend. Maybe I do act like I'm better than everyone else even if I don't realise it.
It was know lunch and I was with a few girls that were in my group who were nice enough to talk to me. There was still some tension but it was bearable. Apart from the fact that we were still all with Chloe.
I was sat in the canteen with everyone as I tried to block out the snide remarks Chloe kept on making every so often or the little diggs that were blatantly towards me.
"What's your problem! Why are you acting like this?" I say frustrated. As I hear everyone else getting quieter as they could sense a massive argument about to erupt.
"Oh, Emma I don't have a problem" Chloe says while laughing. "I just don't like it when someone thinks they are better than everyone else."
"For the last time I'm not! I just don't agree with you making nasty comment about someone"
"Nasty comments!" She says as she rolls her eyes at me. "Please Emma we were just having a laugh. Your the one who made a big deal out of it"
"I just don't want to be a part of it, how hard is that for you to understand?" I say trying to get my point across.
