TIMESKIP 1 WEEK...

It has been two weeks.

And nothing was happening in this small town.

Or well, of course stuff happened, people are living here after all.

But all Minji had to do was stop a petty theft of food from the small family-owned grocery store, or some kids vandalizing property using spray paint.

Which well, Haerin seemed to do just fine doing her job on her own.

Minji was so bored here.

Haerin inherently was not a bad person, but Minji disliked the cat girl.

No personal hatred to her, Minji was just so fucking bored, and Haerin was the only person that would interact with her besides the rest of the three people in the police station.

'I want to go back... God why did they send me here.'

Minji walked around in some casual clothing, Haerin had left to do something half an hour ago, and with nothing else to do since it was her day off...

She just walked around.

Might as well spend her time viewing the small town than stay holed up in the spare bedroom Haerin had.

She greeted citizens with a meek smile, stepping out of the way of running children and stray animals as she strolled down a path.

In the two weeks she was here, she hadn't really taken the time to walk around during the day.

'Huh?'

Minji slowed her walk as she took notice of the police-officer-trainee, who began to kneel down in front of a stone slab.

She stopped at the edge of the path, watching as Haerin began to pray while facing a gravestone.

The bear mumbled softly to herself as she watched the younger girl, "Haerin...?"

'I didn't even know there was a graveyard here... I wonder who that is.'

"Poor girl, that one."

Minji startled out of her skin, whipping around to see an old woman with a cane.

'Where the fuck did she come from-'

The old woman gazed at Haerin while talking to the bear, "her mother died from a sickness a couple years back. Oh that young woman was so kind to everyone too... You should've seen the love she had for her daughter, Haerin was in good hands as a kid."

"What about her father?"

The woman scoffed at Minji's question, "you can't call that sorry excuse of a man a father, he left a few months ago, saying he 'had enough' and moved to the city to do God knows what."

'So that's why I don't see Haerin's family at her home... She's only twenty-one as well...'

"Oh," Minji frowned, "so she's alone?"

"Up until you came, yes."

The old woman suddenly smacked Minji's leg with her walking stick, the bear struggling not to yelp from the sudden pain.

She opted for a silent grimace.

"Be nicer to her, city girl. I see the way you act around her when you two are patrolling."

The woman gave Minji a wise gaze, "don't let your own city problems become Haerin's problems, she already has plenty of healing she needs to do."

Minji watched as she walked away, taking one last glance at Haerin before walking away herself.
