Bottom!San
Top!Mingi

.

San and Mingi were a pair of ghosts haunting an old, abandoned house. They considered it their home and enjoyed scaring anyone who dared to enter.

"This is so boring," San complained. "Every time someone comes, we scare them, and their reaction is always the same. They’re all scared and then run away immediately."

"Yeah, totally. It’s monotonous. If someone comes by again and we scare them, we already know what their reaction will be," Mingi agreed.

San looked thoughtful. It seemed that not only humans needed to think—ghosts did too.

Soon, San’s face lit up with an idea. "Aha! I’ve got an idea! Let’s make it more exciting and less monotonous."

"What’s the idea?"

"How about we have a competition to see who can make someone run away in fear the fastest?"

"And what does the winner get?"

"Whatever they want. So the loser has to give the winner whatever they ask for."

"You mean a bet? Pfft, sounds like a kid’s game."

"Let it be!"

Mingi chuckled before agreeing, "Alright, deal?"

"Deal."

Every day, they competed to see who could scare visitors away first. San tried to evoke fear by dropping objects or making strange noises, while Mingi appeared in frightening forms—anything massive, fitting his large frame.

They always competed to be the best. Whenever they succeeded in frightening a visitor, they exchanged proud looks. Of course, one of them would be disappointed when they found out they lost in terms of time. And how did they know who was faster or slower? After all, both would have the same result—people running away scared.

The answer was simple: they both used stopwatches on their phones before they went into action.

One day, a man named Yunho came to the house and he wasn’t afraid of ghosts. On the contrary, he was curious and wanted to find out who was haunting the place.

San and Mingi started brainstorming on how to scare Yunho and make him afraid. However, the more they tried, the harder it became to frighten him. Yunho was startled by the ghostly sounds San made, but as long as it was just sounds and didn’t hurt him, he didn’t need to be afraid. To be fair, there had never been any reports of someone dying after entering this notoriously haunted house.

Even with all the terrifying forms Mingi showed, Yunho was merely startled. He had a principle: as long as he wasn’t harmed, he had no reason to be afraid.

Yunho decided to renovate the house. According to many beliefs, the worse a place was, the more spirits it attracted, as they preferred dirty places. But Yunho believed that spirits, like people, preferred clean environments. He hoped that by doing this, he could make San and Mingi feel comfortable and persuade them to stop scaring anyone who came by.

Despite whatever benefit it might have for Yunho, he simply wanted to do this. He was just a wealthy person with too much time on his hands. He was sure San and Mingi were good ghosts. After all, they had never dared to harm Yunho.

Previously, Yunho had told San and Mingi that he would be renovating the house and asked them not to scare anyone once the renovation was complete. They agreed to give Yunho what he wanted if the renovations were good and made them comfortable.

Yunho also requested that they not scare any of the construction workers during the renovation. He said it would be unsportsmanlike, especially since the renovation was also for them. Eventually, San and Mingi agreed, so Yunho could manage the renovation calmly without being annoyed by his workers screaming in fear. Yes, he was the manager himself because he had a lot of free time.
