"That's the last of it, hun" My mom tells me as she walks into my dorm with a box that she places down by my bed. I'm sharing a dorm with my best friend, KK Arnold. We've been best friends since 1st grade when we found out we had the same birthday, then the rest was history

"Can we help you decorate?" My 12 year old sister, Ally, asks

"Of course" I exclaim and she smiles. We work for the next 3 hours, setting up all of my decorations and putting away my clothes. Since KK is an athlete here, she was needed at UConn way earlier than I was so her stuff is already set up and has been for a few weeks

"I don't want to leave" My sisters bottom lip starts to quiver and I sadly smile at her

"I promise I'll call you whenever I can. Okay? Be good for mama" I tell her and she embraces me in a hug

"Aw, my baby. I know you're going to do such great things here and I'm so proud of you" My mom hugs me after my sister

"Stop, I love you guys but you're gonna make me cry and this eyeliner took forever" I joke with them, trying to lighten the mood

"All right, Ally, babe, we have to get going. The drive back is super long. Sofia, let KK know we say hi, okay? We love you hun" My mom says as we all hug once more before they leave

Once the two of them leave, I hop onto my bed and take my phone out to text KK

After texting with KK, I decide to continue organizing some of my clothes and decorations

"Arnold, get off your phone" Aubrey yells during our water break and I sigh dramatically before putting it back in my bag

"Who were you texting anyway?" Azzi asks

"My best friend, Sofia. She's just got to our dorm a few hours ago and I'm going there after practice" I explain to the girls who nod

"Girl bye. We were supposed to hang out together" Paige exclaims, mentioning our teams plans for after practice

"Sorry" I shrug as I take a ball and start dribbling between my legs

"What if you invite her to hang out with us" Nika suggests

"Ooh, yea. Do that. I want to meet her. What does she look like?" Azzi questions

"Well, I would show you on my phone, but someone just yelled at me to put it away" I glare at Aubrey who chuckles to herself

"Oh, come on, just show us, please. Her name sounds pretty." Nika begs and I sigh and pull back out my phone. I go into my photo app and I find a good picture of Fia
