In the largest faculty meeting room that Beacon had to offer, there was a large gathering of huntsmen and teachers having gathered for one purpose. The room was a simple one, dozens of metal folding chairs in a radial pattern facing the front where Ozpin and Glynda stood in front of a projector that showed slides of information. The purpose was the annual year 1 students being able to take their very first assignment missions in a few hours while being shadowed by either a staff member or veteran huntsmen. Many had answered the call to lead the next generation. Some were already used to this system of shadowing students, while others this would be the first time students would be in their care.

That was the case for Texas, Moron, Floridaman, and Akula. As Beacon Academy staff members, they were required to partake in these first assignment missions. The first part of the presentation was a welcome and a layout of ground rules followed by what can and can not happen. Most members of the ground just stared at the dry plaster wall since this was a generally perceived boring part due to dryness. Even plaster was more 'wet' than the presentation.

They weren't going to know what missions they would be taking, for one that was in the huntsmen mission database and up to the students to decide what they wanted to take. But finally, after what felt like eternity, the juice came. The part where they find out which poor fuckers would be they shadowing or individually shadowing given they had no idea if everyone would be together.

"Alright, we have come to the second main part. Placements for who you will be working with." Glynda holding a remote control that allowed for the changing of slides in her hand announced. She steps up, taking over from Ozpin, who had covered the previous section before. The slide being projected changes from a sime title slide with the words 'Placements' in bold black Arial font on a bland white background.

"As usual, we will start with faculty first followed by external huntsmen."

The side was a spreadsheet, 2 columns, and 2 cells with the staff member on the left and assigned team on the right.

"Peter Port, you will be with JNPR. Ann Greene, you will be with BLAU. Harold Mulberry, you will be with CRDL."

"Aw what the fuck?!" Mulberry cries out in disappointment from the back causing several heads to turn from the front. Glynda looks visibly angered from the sudden outburst but keeps her cool, continuing on as if it never happened.

"Thumbelina Peach, SLVR."

The 4 mercenaries didn't see their names on the slide yet, their eyes glued to the projector waiting for Glynda to change the side. To the surprise of everyone, when the slides changed, all 4 men would be grouped up together to take care of a single team.

"Ah, our newest staff at Beacon. Since you all are practically a team, we have grouped you all up together to be following...team RWBY."

Ozpin explained, and suddenly, everyone's eyes turned to the men. There was little for them to say to the eyes that faced them, Akula gave a shy wave before the attentions faded from them. The next minutes were none of their concerns, given they already knew what they needed to know already. After what felt like eternity, they were dismissed. Finally, they could go back and prepare their kits for an extended deployment again, just like back home in tarkov when going out to a raid.

"I'll meet you guys back at the apartment. Gotta collect the stims." Texas waves the others off and splits off, making his way through faculty offices and meeting rooms. Eventually, he reached an open balcony designed as a smoking area for staff. He reaches his hand into one of the pouches on his vest, pulling out a trio of items, a cigar, cutter for said cigar, and zibbo lighter. As he sticks the cigar into his mouth, another person enters the smoking area. Professor Peach, despite her generally clean appearance, was a smoker, too.
