The group had taken so many twists and turns following the events at fortress. Texas, Moron and Floridaman each had to recount how to get to the hideout again after months of not thinking how to do so. They had been walking for quite a distance as well. It was probably going to be daylight soon if they were to emerge onto the surface right now. Eventually, after navigating the narrow tunnels for a while, they reached some sort of dead end. The concrete looked like it had been smashed, but the hole was blocked by something else lying flata against it. In actuality, it was a disguised entrance leading to something further ahead.
"Akula, take Neo. I'm going to move this thing." Texas handed the unconscious girl to him like some sort of package without even waiting for Akula's input. He just gave her to him, making him carry her with both his arms just like he did earlier. Texas then moved what looked to be a table sitting against the wall upright to the side, revealing the tunnel leading to a stairwell. The stairwell was dark, and as such, Texas turned the light mounted on his rifle to shine the way forward.
The group kept walking down, not before Moron put the table back where it was blocking the entrance to this place. There was no way to tell how much more down or what was next because the whole thing was made out of concrete. Their sides were just completely flat urban decaying concrete with the lights busted. Eventually, they reached a room that looked equally abandoned with various pieces of rubble and destroyed furniture everywhere. Passing the room to a smaller stairwell that had a hallway turning at an obtuse angle rather than 90 degrees.
At the end was a sturdy steel door with a fingerprint inputter at the side mounted on a nearby wall to the right. The steel door had a camera on the eye level that could give anyone inside a good look at who was at the door.
"Looks fine so far..." Moron said as he caught a glimpse of the door seeing there was no tampering.
"Hopefully shits fine inside, but keep your weapons ready." Texas removed the glove on his right hand but stopped right before pressing his finger down on the scanner.
"Shit." Remembering he didn't have his biological arm anymore, he brought his palm close to his eyes seeing they had no detail on them. That meant no fingerprints.
"Someone else try their finger. My arm doesn't have fingerprints." He turned around and asked, Moron took his place as he stepped aside and removed the glove sitting on his right hand. He pressed his thump on the fingerprint scanner, but the screen flashed red. Everyone's heart stopped at that moment as Moron tried again but wiped his thumb on his pants to clear any dirt that may be blocking the scan of his finger taking place properly. He lowered his thumb again, and this time, the scanner flashed green.
The door unlocked itself in quick fashion, unlocking the hinges holding it in place. With his rifle in one hand Moron swung the door open, slowly checking inside to see if there was anybody. To their amazement, the power was still running, Moron had a quick look around, trying to see if there was anyone in there. Everyone readied their weapons while Ruby and Weiss got a glimpse through the door slit of what was beyond. It looked to be a well stocked and furnished home fashioned from an old bomb shelter.
One by one, the mercernaries entered their Tarkov home guns drawn, and they quickly checked all the rooms, trying to find any sign of disturbance, but there was nothing at all. Everything was the same as it was strangely enough. Just like the day they left it before the trip to labs and then remnant. The lights started to turn on, and long led tube lights turned on, giving everything an energising white light to the hideout. It wasn't the same as daylight, but this would do wonderfully in its stead.
Moron then went to the fridge and opened it to check if the perishables were rotten yet while everyone gathered. Ruby, Weiss, and Akula entered with the latter, shutting the door behind himself as he stepped in. Such sophistication it was that the door locked upon shutting on its very own, which was rare for tarkov.
